Hi Kelly,

Thanks for using FixYa. Error F21 means long drain, this error occurs when the drain time exceeds 8 minutes. To resolve this check the drain hose and make sure it is not kinked with any foreign particles; also clean the drain pump filter for any clogs. Also check if the pump is running fine. If still the issue is not resolved after all this then you might have to replace the pump. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

Error 21 was on washer, we cleaned out drain then started washer it appeared to be working, but then error message 21 came on again. It is very late so tomorrow morning we will open drain again.

Hello, it can only be dirty filtersomething in the pump drain line blocked up or failed pump. I would check the filter again and if its clean put the drain hose in a bucket see if it drains but chances are you will need a new drain pump. hope this helps please rate my answer thanks

I have a Whirlpool front loading washing machine and when I try to do a load of laundry, it will wash, but then flashes an F21 error message....and stops......I have tried canceling the load and restarting...

The F-21 code is a blocked drain tube. Take off the front lower panel and locate the drain. Should be front right, Disconnect it and clean out the little trap that collects stuff. Put back together and should be fine. I always find stuff like coins and tissues wadded in there. It made for collecting foreign matter to keep the drain clear.

Error code F 21? washer stops

Hi

The error code F21 means LONG DRAIN
If the drain time exceeds 8 minutes the water valves turn off.

NOTES: After 4 minutes the “Sd” error will be displayed, and then 4 minutes later the “F/21” error code will be displayed. Press PAUSE/CANCEL two times to clear the display.

Possible Causes/Procedure

1. Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked.
2. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
3. Check the electrical connections at the pump and make sure the pump is running.
4. Check the drain pump filter for foreign objects.
5. Plug in washer or reconnect power.
6. If the above does not correct the problem, go to step 7.
7. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
8. Replace the pump.

Please do rate the solution as FixYa and revert for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee
