You have not provided a lot of info, as the other PC works OK then the VM line can be ruled out.

Are you connecting wirelessly or wired?
If wireless have you tried changing channels?
Have you tried a wired connection?
Have you tried direct connection to modem?

You will get a quicker solution going here

My 50 inch Philips Plasma TV is normally connected to a Virgin Media HD Box in order to watch TV programmes. Tonight my TV is showing a box that is called Information, and it has the wording No signal or...

Unplug both the set and box from power for a while--either may have caused a glitch---power both back with everything already connected and see if the reboot that will happen helps or not--a lot of times the box causes this by confusing the set it is connected to.

I cant connect to my internet using a ethernet cable, it say limited or no connection yet after going through this with virgin media for an hour turns out the problem is to do with me not them, please

if you were able to connect earlier on this computer and if you can connect on another system/ computer using the same ethernet cable and virgin media connection as of now it does mean that the issue is computer specific so you can try a system restore thru start>>programs>>accessories>>system tools>> system restore and restore the system to a earlier time when you were sure that internet connection worked. you can also try forcing ip and dns settings which Virgin media can provide. also you can try changing the speed and duplex settings to force 10mb half duplex and see if it works. Good luck

Trying to conect laptop to virgin media with netgear wireless adaptor the signal is strong but could not conect windows say to contact provider provider gave me number to enter 192.168.0.1 now i am lost

The router is not connected to the internet via Virgin media.

Your computer is connected only to the router wirelessly, that is why it says contact your internet supplier on how to connect the router successfully!

I have a modem supplied by virgin media can i

Well, Virgin Media provides Cable Internet connection and with those connections you can not use this ADSL modem. If you have internet services from Virgin.net then only you will be able to use this modem with them. This modem will not work with Virgin Media connection.

Hope this answers your query.

D-link won't connect to the internet

If you connect the computer directly to the modem , it shopuld work.
If your computer is online when connected only to the modem then the problem must be router settings .
you will need to check the settings manually.

Want to get more speed out o my fiberoptic broadand

Well the best router for your connection type would be WNR2000. Even Virgin media recommend this router for their 20 and 50 Meg connection. I am pretty confident that this router will meet your requirement with this ISP connection.

Hope this helps.

Internet connection problems

You can ask virgin to assign a seperate ip to you which will not conflict with the other (someone in the same area) computer's ip. I feel the computer shop may not be able to help you in this regard.

Let me know what happens.
