Question about Slide Projectors

1 Answer

Slide projector I was using my kodak ektragraphic slide projector, when I first started it up the fan made a noise. I quick restarted it and it all worked great. I used for about an hour. Now when I turn it on "nothing" no fan , no light. Is there a reset button or something. Thanks Kevin kstotesbery@yahoo.com

No, there is no re-set...there is however a thermal-coupler which will burn out instead of your projector burning up. It is close to the "Kodak" name plate inside and right behind the lamp socket. You CAN by-pass this unit but I don't reccommend this since it then could become a fire hazzard. We still repair those: www.flcamerarepair.com

Kodak slide projector 4400 developed a noise when last used. Is it safe to continue using?

If the new noise is constant, check the cooling fan for debris of some sort stuck in it.
Do not use the projector if the fan is not working as it might overheat and ruin your slides.

Fan noise Slide Projectors

Fan noise on a Carousel 4200 Slide Projector is usually not the fan at all - - it is usually caused by the fan or mechanism drive belts (they stretch out and loose their elasticity over time & wear). Replacing the belts and re-greasing the fan axle should quiet the projector down nicely. The belts can be purchased from: www.micro-tools.com
Words of warning:
* This replacement will require an almost total disassembly of the projector.
* Do NOT interchange the belts!!! They are size-specific.

Kodak av 1050 slide projector with noisy fan motor

You can try a very small amount of a synthetic machine oil ( NOT WD-40!!!), but chances are if these machines have a bunch of hours on them the fan bearings (or the fan) will need to be replaced. The good news: you can contact www.micro-tools.com for Ektapro (or most any Kodak Slide Projector part). They have an amazing inventory of parts for Kodak machines and great technical support! Good Luck !!

Kodak Slide Projector not moving carousel

Chances are that the LINK that connects the cycle solenoid plunger to the cycle lever is broken. This happens a lot on this generation of projectors. You can purchase the parts from: www.micro-tools.com, as Kodak no longer stocks parts. micro-tools should be able to provide installation instructions! Good Luck!

If the motor is "OK" (turning), then it's not a fuse, it's the belt that the motor drives to power the slide change mechanism. There are 2 belts: 1 that drives the fan & one that drives the slide change mechanism.

What is the correct carousel for a kodak 760 H projector?

A KODAK Carousel 760H is designed to be used with either KODAK 140 or KODAK 80 Slide Trays. The KODAK 80 Slide Tray has wider slide compartments, which tend to be more forgiving for older, slightly warped slides.

Problems with using a 140 carousel on a Kodak 4600

There is nothing wrong with your slide trays. Your projector needs an adjustment to the cycle contact assembly. The constant cycle mode is a dead-giveaway. You need to take the projector to an Authorized Repair Dealer for this adjustment. Should be relatively quick - - it takes longer to get the case apart than to make the repair!
