  • First I will attempt to clarify what I believe the question to be.

Question: When the motor controller is set in the manual position, forward and reverse work fine, but when the controller is set to auto the motor will not run.

Answer: To the left of the box with the auto/manual and on/off switches on top will be a silver or gold box depending on the age of the oven. On the left side of this box is a circuit breaker, make sure it is in the on position. When the selector is set to auto the on/off selector is overridden and irrelevant. With the loading door closed and the motor not running you should hear an alarm warning you that the trays are not spinning. If the circuit breaker is in the on position and the motor still isn't running the brushes in the motor could be worn out. If you order the brushes from Baxter you can replace them just make sure the oven is off or you can get a nasty shock. On the rear of the motor on both sides are small doors with two bolts in them, remove the doors and you will see a metal braided wire attached to a magnet with a metal retaining clip, this is the brush. Pay attention to how it comes out, it needs to go back in perfectly. Replace both brushes on each side. If this does not fix your problem you will need a new DC converter box, the one with the circuit breaker on the left side. That is an easy, but costly replacement.

Baxter oven does not fire up at all

So many things it could be. A bad high limit switch. A bad air proving switch. Maybe the burner motor overload had tripped. And that's not even half of the components that might be preventing it from working. It's best to call an experienced service provider.

Where can i go and dowload the wiring manual for the baxter gas oven

Hobart, the parent company of Baxter are very picky with releasing manuals, diagrams, etc. Your best bet is go to the link below and create a user name and see if they give you access to the manuals.

I have a problem with a Baxter OV300g Oven. The Automatic Ignition System keeps Flashing 1-flash Air flow problem, can you help me with this. Thank you.

Check to see if your draft inducer (exhaust fan) is running, if it is then you could have a dirty/bad air switch, the component with the small black hose running to it and the two wires on the face. To check an air switch using a multi-meter set it to 40 VAC and place a lead on each terminal, if you are getting a voltage reading over 1 volt, replace the air switch, if you have zero volts, the air switch is closed and working. Aside from a bad exhaust motor or air switch there could be many things causing that error.

Wich is the power supply 120v, 208 1 phasse or 208v 3 phase.

Most Baxter BXA ovens have separate power supplies, usually 120v for the controls and lights, a 120v output on a circuit breaker for the roof fan, and a 208VAC 3 phase supply for your convection motor. Older Baxter ovens may have a 3 phase service disconnect inside the electrical/burner compartment, if I recall correctly the BXA models do not and the only way to shut it off is via the 3 pole breaker at the service panel.

Hi,when Element does not heat up correctly

1. Test for power to determine that the unit is receiving the correct voltages.
2. If the power voltages are correct and you have standard surface burner elements:
1. Test Surface Burner.
2. Test the Receptacle.
3. Test the Burner Switch.
3. If the power voltages are correct and you have solid-disc elements:
1. Test the solid-disc element.

1. Make sure the controls are set properly that the oven selector switch is set correctly and that the temperature switch is set to the desired temperature. Where applicable, make sure the oven timer is set to manual.

2. Make sure the oven door is slightly ajar as per your owner's manual.

3. If nothing else on the Range, Oven or Cooktop is working then:
1. Check the circuit breaker or fuse
2. Test for power

4. Test the broiler element.

5. Check the oven thermostat.

6. Check selector switch.

7. Check oven cycling relay.

REMEMBER YOU ARE WORKING WITH 220 VOLTS - USE EXTREME CAUTION .

Oven with an attitude

Check the lineator actuator motor. If you remove the top cover there should be a strip of metal stuck on the cover to put pressure on the gear to keep it from free wheeling down. These is a tiny button/nipple that sits in the hole in the top of the gear shaft. Lose it and you're sunk. Work with good light and watch the grease. Good luck

Check to make sure the draft motor, directly above the control panel in the front right corner, is running. If it is running then you could have a dirty air switch, if you open your control panel you will see a metallic disk with a black rubber hose and two wires going to it, this is your air switch. Try disconnecting the hose and blowing out the air switch and hose with compressed air. If this doesn't work you may need a new air switch. If the motor isn't running at all you could have a bad motor or a bad ignition module which powers the fan.
