I had the same problem. I opened the piston frame and foun out that the spring wire valve was broken. It is alout two inches long by 3/4 in wide and about 0.015 thick.

I am having a hard time locating the part

the compressor is not putting enough air into the guns cylinder and the escaping air is a safety feature for safety. You need to get a larger comp or increase the pressure coming out of hose. there should be a gauge on comp. Set it for suggested pressure for each separate tool. Be Safe!

There are usually two gages, one for the pressure in the tank, the other is for the regulated pressure in the hose going to whatever tool you have connected. I assume the tank filled up and the tank gage registers pressure in the tank. When you said you "opened the gage" I am guessing that you turned the knob counter-clockwise which would be the normal direction to open a valve. However, this is not a valve, it is a spring loaded regulator device. When you turn the knob counterclockwise you are removing all pressure from the spring which sets the regulator to allow zero pressure in the hose. Turn the knob clockwise to increase the pressure in the hose. I hope this was helpful. Good luck.

My air condition is not blowing cold air

best diagnostic method is dual head gauges. balanced pressure between low and high side in the off position is aroung 90 lbs. running low pressure is 20-40 lbs and high pressure 160-200, is the compressior not coming on? does it stay on, or click on and off. either might mean the freon level is low. try unplugging the low pressure switch on the low side supply line and shorting the pigtail wires together with a paper clip. does the compressor stay on now? if so and the air is warm or cool, freon is low. if the air is cold that switch is bad. if compressor still won't come on the list of possibilities grows longer: compressor, comp fan clutch, AC relay, restriction at several places... repair shop time...

Starts up then shuts off and the primer button sucks in so its not getting gas. its not the vgas cap tried that already

You may try removing the fuel line from the carb, removing the gas cap and blowing air (low pressure or by mouth) through it to the gas tank. The in tank filter may be clogged.OR You can check by just seeing if fuel flows easily from the tank through the line.

Portable oiless compressor wont pressurize

If there is pressure at the pump, either:

1) The tank check valve isn't opening (it's located where the line from the head enters the tank - usually extends into the tank, and the the pressure switch unloader line comes off of it as well)
2) The pressure switch unloader is bleeding off the air. This is a small valve on the side of the pressure switch. It should close when the compressor is running and open when the compressor shuts off to bleed off head pressure.

With piston compressors it shouldnt matter which way it runs. it sounds as if the non-retun valves may be damaged or not closing properly. this can be caused by a foreign object stuck in the valve. the valves are located in the head of the cylinder. Check The valves..

When tank is low on pressure, the motor cuts in but compressor struggles to turn and trips.

some compressors require an air release that drains the pump head when the compressor reaches full pressure if this is not working the compressor tries to start with full pressure on the pistons which is hard on the motor. If you always heard a small release of air when the compressor shut off yours probably had this feature. drain all the air out and if it starts fine that may be where the problem is. If its one of the smaller oiless ones the motor start capacitor is probably bad
