You need to check that the cooling fan is working. That warning is telling you that the fan is not working and if you continue to use the laptop you risk burning up the hard drive and other components in your laptop. Have it repaired ASAP. Then purchase an external cooling fan that sits under your laptop and use this as well when using the laptop.

Best solution I would recommend would be to take a can of air to it. Give your laptop a good once or twice over.

Cleans it good :)

Message keeps popping up saying Turn off computer, problem in cooling system

you need to get pressurized air and blow the vents to remove dust particles causing over heat. Or if possible remove keyboard to expose cooling fan and chip and use pressurized air to blow off dust

Turn fan on

Fans might be controlled in the bios, so check the bios or system setup.

The fans, if working properly will turn on and off as needed. Unless you are getting a error message about the fan, don't worry about it. Also if the computer runs hot and shuts down, then you might have a fan problem.

My computer wont boot up the fan and light turn on for a second then goes right off....

With the little bit of information presented, it appears that this is possible a power supply problem. One thing you can try is to unplug the power adapter from the laptop, remove the battery, then plug the power adapter back into the laptop. Then try to turn it on. If everything comes up normally, then the problem points, potentially, to the battery.
Hope this helps!

Fan quit working on laptop. I've heard conflicting information from stores today about whether or not new computer is needed or this being repairable. When I turn on computer, it says "system fan...

Hi There,

The message that you are getting from your computer system is because the motherboard has got very hot and therefore requires new motherboard and the new fan will come with it. I would buy a new computer instead of repairing this one due to the cost involved.

The answer to your data is yes... your hard drive can taken out and the data copied to another system, or even burned to cd. I would buy an external drive kit from pc shop and instert your drive into it and use it as an external deive on your new laptop.

Please let me know if you need more help.

Regards,

Philip

If you are not a technician, please do not attempt to service yourselves. Take your laptop to the service center.

Fan error problem

you need to open up laptop and firstly check connections and lead to fan then check fan for dust and debris ,to check fan need to remove cover above it.check if fan freely spins if a bit sticky or stiff pull off plastic fan and clean off motor shaft.you wouldnt think so but hairs and stuff over a period of time accumulate there.with the pc turn on try to physically spin it .if nothing at all fan needs replacing.it could also be the power to the fan but this is unlikely for the mere fact that pc has detected problem in first place.
