Question about Logitech Webcam
Sounds like everything is ok at your end
If you had a USB problem this would be reflected in the image you see
Its what is happening when you start broadcasting that matters
If either of you are operating on a low bandwidth below that recommended for webcams would be one reason. You can Google Internet speed check to see how you fare.
Your friend needs to check his version of Microsoft DirectX as well
This is normally installed on Windows computers but has he ever updated ? I am currently on version 11 and it is the standard support software for Logitech
To start the DirectX Diagnostic Tool, click Start, click Run, type dxdiag in the Open box, and then click OK.
The version will be under the 'Systems' tab - check all tabs and see if any problems are posted in the 'notes' window

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
