What you need to do to get the card to work is you need to formate it to your camera. On the link below on page 4 tells you how to formate to your computer.

My Kodak EasyShare V530, won't accept a memory card, you insert a memory card, and it doesn't even acknowledge that there is a memory card inserted.

I bet the memory card that you're inserting is a brand new 4GB SDHC card (your camera can only use 2GB or less standard SD cards). There are several possible causes for "memory card locked", "memory card error", or "no memory card". The most common is trying to use a 4GB or higher SDHC card with an older camera made before SDHC format came out. Other causes include problems with the tiny slide switch on the side of the card, or the electrical contact switch internal to the camera. The problem may also arise from simple formatting problems if the card has never been formatted in the camera (note that this will also erase the card). Troubleshooting tips for this problem may be found at this link.

Bought a new Lexar 8GB memory card and having trouble formatting it for the Kodak Easy Share V530

The V530 works with SD cards. Your new 8GB card is an SDHC card. While SDHC cards will fit into the slot, they are electronically incompatible and will not work. You need to go with SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

HOW DO I CHANGE THE SD CARD ??

These are the physical specs of Kodak Easyshare V530

The bottom and the top of Kodak V530

The back -lcd display and the right side of Kodak V530

On the right side of the Kodak v530, just look at the above image, you will see a slot in the center of the silver band covered with white felt curtain that protects it from dust. On this slot is where the SD card is inserted. Just insert the card carefully, and feel the click when SD card is placed properly, and push the card carefully until it bounced back and release from the slot when removing the SD card.

V530 camera continue to ask formatting needed.

Navigate to the 'Format' section of the menu then try each option ('Yes' 'No') separately---checking the advisories between each trial.

I have a kodak easy share c734 and i bought a 16 gig memory card and all i get is format card message.i have formated the card several times with the camera and with my computer and i still get the same...

Most Kodak cameras only allow you to use up to 2gig memory cards. When I was on holiday I bought a 4gig for myself and I was told after that it would not work on it. I tried formating it everything but nothing works.

My Kodak EasyShare C315 needs formatting.

For all the camera users whose cameras won't format...they can't accept all the info on a 2 gb memory card... install a 1 gb card...worked like a charm for me! C315 and others were made before the 2 gb card. Only 1 gb cards work in the older cameras.

My Kodak V530 is able to turn on,but all black in LCD

Mine was doing about the same thing. Take the battery out. Take the 4 screws off where you can get to the screen from the inside. Get the back off where you can get to the screen connection. Press on the connection to make sure they are seated well and put it back together. It worked for me.
