Whenever I plug my web cam in, my laptop can't detect it. It used to be fine, but suddenly on Creative Cam Detector it just says to plug in my web cam to continue, even though it is!
Please help!

Plug in your camera. From your Control Panel navigate to the Device Manager and look for any driver alerts ( warning triangles / question marks) Expand the 'Imaging' folder and right click on your webcam text Make sure the camera is enabled
You can try this diagnostic software but it does not highlight driver problems
If it is a usb web cam. Plug the web cam with the computer wait for some time it should install the driver automatically for the same you will get the screen prompts if it does not do that use the disc which you have got to install the driver software and after that restart the computer. After that whenever you want to use it there should be a power button on the web cam turn on that and it will be ready for use.
plug in your webcam and go to windows update and select custom installs... If that doesnt work go to the website and see support or download section and download the driver... Or u can use driver detective but that costs £9.99...
check the usb settings enabled in the bios or the cable inside the laptop. In some case the usb cable inside get fault and it will not detect the web cam.In normal case if you plug any usb device it will detect the usb device then the os will show new hardware found and will allow you to install the software for it,if it doesnt detect you cannot install the driver for it and in the yahoo messenger it give the message
try formatting your PC then go to the creative webpage and download the exat driver for the model and then install it.. and the cam should work just fine !!
Same problem. Have Creative Web Cam Pro. When I installed it and everything it showed me sitting there and I could see myself fine. I open PC-CAM Center, however, and it says "Creative Camera not detected. Please plug in to continue..." It's plugged in. I can click the button on top and the PC-CAM center comes up, so I know it works. But it won't detect it. Thanks for any help you can provide!
