It sounds like your webcam is either disabled, or the driver is corrupted. Try this webcam technical support article for help in restoring it.

best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Am a little frustrated. I installed my Creative web Cam model vf 0520 and it was working fine, detected by both my Windows XP and the Creative Web Cam Center software.but now not detecting in my pc.why it...

Plug in your camera.
From your Control Panel navigate to the Device Manager and look for any driver alerts ( warning triangles / question marks)
Expand the 'Imaging' folder and right click on your webcam text
Make sure the camera is enabled

You can try this diagnostic software but it does not highlight driver problems

How to use web com?

If it is a usb web cam.
Plug the web cam with the computer wait for some time it should install the driver automatically for the same you will get the screen prompts if it does not do that use the disc which you have got to install the driver software and after that restart the computer. After that whenever you want to use it there should be a power button on the web cam turn on that and it will be ready for use.

Problem

Same problem. Have Creative Web Cam Pro. When I installed it and everything it showed me sitting there and I could see myself fine. I open PC-CAM Center, however, and it says "Creative Camera not detected. Please plug in to continue..." It's plugged in. I can click the button on top and the PC-CAM center comes up, so I know it works. But it won't detect it. Thanks for any help you can provide!
