downloading a game from a pc to a psp won't play on the psp in any case, unless you install custum firmware on the psp by buying a custom firmware kit of www.amazon.com.
If you don't want to do this any easy way of downloading games for the psp is buy using the psp store on the psp, which you should be able to get if you have the latest update. You can download the games from the psp store but they are not free. some of them actually cost more than just buying a UMD disc from a game shop.
This is how I managed to fix the psp error 80020148. Ok I found some program online that works on my 3.40 OE-A and it rips the UMD games for me. but when I went to play them the "The game could not be started. (80010002)" message came up. Then I tried to play the original game (UMD DISK) I got this message "The game could not be started. (80020148)". So I went online here is what i found...... TO FIX THE PROBLEM FOLLOW THESE STEPS: 1. Goto Recovery Menu (turn off then hold R and turn on)2. Configuration -> Use NO-UMD (Disable it)3. Go all the way back to main menu4. Advanced -> Advanced Configuration -> (Disable all of them)
if your psp will not play the game discs check the cd which is correctly inserted or not , if not reenter the disk.
if you are satisfied use repair guide to fix this problem, it will easily fix this proble,

try different games or playing the game with the PSP in diferent positions, ex upside down, sideways... and let me know if it works. If it does something is lose inside, if it does not the laser reader or LCD casing must be replaced.
The first thing to check is the firmware of your PSP. You should make sure that your PSP has the latest firmware loaded. Because some games will not work or load up if the latest firmware is not installed or loaded up.
You usually get this error message 80010087 if the UMD drive has errors reading the UMD disc or otherwise the disc is not present or was ejected while in the middle of playing a game or loading a movie. I suggest that you try to testing to see if the problem happens with other UMD discs, if it doesn't then most likely the disc could be damaged or scratched.
Now if you are using a modded PSP then you will get this error if you load a game from the memory stick without having any UMD disc inserted in the drive. Or if the game that you are trying to load requires a higher firmware version installed into the PSP. You will be required to flash a higher modded firmware to fix this error if this is your case.
try to use or play other compatible discs, and if you encounter the same issues, most likely there's something wrong with your psp hardware and you need to bring it in to be diagnosed and repaired if warranted.or use the disc game in question and play it in another working psp,if it shows the same symptoms, then it's defective, otherwise, your psp console needs to be checked.
