Question about Panasonic DMR-EZ28K DVD Recorder

1 Answer

I set my DMR-EZ28 to record the wife's soap. When we came home from work the EZ28 had "FROZEN UP" during 6 minutes of the Starting Record Time. According to the time display on the EZ28 the unit had been FROZEN for about 3 hours prior to use retuning home. Now all I get is "NO READ" at all times when any DVD is installed or not! I cleaned the eye and any signs of Hardened Grease Points, jumper connections and so on. And I still have the "NO READ" problem! .... However, I did notice that the DISC Does Not "CONSTANTLY" turn when inserted. It only jerks a few times then stops and the "NO READ" report appear! So! Now I'm stuck! I don't know which Part to Replace, the DRIVE or the Control Board! Anyway, any help would be useful and maybe help others also!

Before replacing anything why don't you try to do a hard reset. If you have the manual it tells you how. If you don't have the manual they have it on the panasonic support site.

Hi,
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.

Goodluck!

In the menu look for clock settings. Because this one has a digital tuner you may not be able to set the clock. It receives the time information from the digital TV broadcast.

Panasonic DMR-ES40V VCR won't schedule record: Recently, the VCR will not do scheduled recording anything beyond today. I can schedule a recording and it appears OK (I get red light on panel), but I never...

I found this solution on one of your old notes (but a different machine). I set up a scheduled record for 11:59 PM to 12:01 AM for the current day, then set up the scheduled record for the next day. The VCR recorded both the initial 2 minute session and the later one which I wanted to record.

Panasonic DMR-EZ28 and DMR EZ27 both freeze up every other day.

I have the panasonic DMR EZ 28 for 4 months. I have beendownloading home videos from my camcorder through the IN 2 port without difficulty until yesterday; Now, when I attach my camcorder through the IN 2 port, I can hear the video, BUT not see by video on the TV monitor; I reconnected the camcorder through the IN 1 port in the back of the DMR and it works, but it's a pain to be working in the back of the machine. Why aren't I seeing the video (but hearing it) when connecting to the IN2. Faulty connection??? Did I program something wrong???

Will my non finalzied discs play on a panasonic ez 28 or ex 768

You will have no problem playing your non finalized discs on any of the Panasonic DMR range including the DMR EZ28 series. The DMR E55 can also easily be repaired if you can use a soldering iron and a little care. Please checkout my other postings for full repair details.
Cheers...
