Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

My Warfdale 19" LCD TV doesn't keep the channels tuned, every time I turn it off it has to do the auto tune before I can watch any channel. The problem also happens if I put the TV into standby, however if I change the source, eg to my HDMI input for my PS3 the channels are still tuned when I switch back to the TV.

Problem will be either bad capacitors that are vented or puffed up on Top or you need to replace the main board the one you connect cable to Encompass Parts Distrbution might have it on stock

hi your signal could be to strong, on the aerial cable the thin brad rap 4 strands around the center solid pin then retune in auto, if this does not work you may to manual tune it in, or get someone to check your aerial and you could try a firmware update on your tv hope it helps

If this is happening on all the channels I think you will need a total reset. If so open menu and check the settings for child lock when you manually tune. An option is to reset the channels once again after the lock is opened. Choose a new channel scan to reset the memory. However if the lock seems to be only on specified channels you can open the settings of the channel and unlock on the menu.

You need to use the setup menu to specify the tuning band (specify whether you have cable or an over the air antenna) before doing an auto channel scan.

The retuning process is as follows:

  1. Press the [i+] button on the remote control to display the DIGITAL INFO menu.
  2. Press the BLUE button to display the MAIN MENU.
  3. Press the UP or DOWN buttons to highlight AUTO TUNING then press the OK button to display the AUTO TUNING MENU.
  4. Press the RED button to start the auto tuning process for all available digital channels.
  5. Wait for the process to complete.

If you wish to CANCEL the auto tuning process whilst it is processing then press the BLUE button at any time.

You may lose some channels when you retune the TV as the channels have been rearranged. To locate them look at the EPG although you may still find that some channels are no longer available on FREEVIEW. See the following link for additional information
