Yes, the agitator assembly can be removed. The WPRE6100G parts diagram is available at: [http://www.geappliances.com/] The top plastic portion of the agitator can be removed to access the screw [SCR 1/4-20 MCH HXW 5/8 S] securing the coupling assembly. If you have questions, write back. -- SWT

Item caught under agitator

The top of the washer pulls up. IT may be hard to do. This will expose the whole drum so that you can see around it. If you need to remove the agitator, there is a cap on the top of the center, take it off and you should see a nut and some lock washers, Remove the nut and lift the agitator out.

I have a GE top load Model GTWN 4950L, there's a belt (cloth) that's stuck around the bottom of agitator. How do I remove it?

On the top of the agitator is a cap. Take it off, then there is a nut and a lock washer and you remove those and lift out the agitator. Then you can take the belt out.

I have whirlpool model LSR7233EQO and one belt of cotton stuck under the propeller

If you are referring to something being caught under the agitator, you can remove the agitator easily, by following these steps:

1. Remove the agitator center cap by either pulling straight up or gently placing a flat blade screwdriver into a slot located in the cap.

2. If the agitator is equipped with an inner cap with a handle, remove this as well by pulling straight up.

3. Remove the center bolt of the agitator. You will have either a 7/16” hex bolt or a recessed square plastic nut. If you have the square recessed type, use a 3/8” to ½” ratchet adapter to remove.

4. Remove the agitator by grasping the bottom flange and carefully pulling straight up.

With the agitator removed, you can easily retrieve anything caught underneath. When reinstalling the agitator DO NOT overtigthen the center post nut. Tighten until snug.

If this is not what you are referring to, please post back and let me know, so I can provide you with better assistance. I hope this is helpful to you.

The leg of a pair of jeans is caught under the agitator and the whole thing is just plain stuck.

Hi, Here is a picture of the agitator and the block that it locks on to. The agitator pulls up very hard. I use a belt and slide it under the agitator. Then I use a board or pipe and loop it through the belt and pry the agitator up.
I hope this helps you. Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Cloth stuck under agitator in washing machine.

there is a bolt under the fabric softner dispenser (if you have one) if not, its a plastic cap on the top of your agitator which pops off by hand or a butter knife.. then there is a bolt under there that holds the unit down..grap the bottom of your agitator and loosen the bolt and remove it...then lift up carefully on the whole thing..careful not to loose the seal and bolt to put the agitator back in place....good luck..

Remove the agitator

The agitator is actually pressed on without mechanical fasteners . Grab the bottom of the agitator firmly on each side. Pull up with a quick, hard **** (careful not to hit your face). If this does not work, wrap a belt under the agitator. Grab the belt firmly and pull up with a quick, hard ****.
