Yes, the agitator assembly can be removed. The WPRE6100G parts diagram is available at: [http://www.geappliances.com/] The top plastic portion of the agitator can be removed to access the screw [SCR 1/4-20 MCH HXW 5/8 S] securing the coupling assembly. If you have questions, write back. -- SWT
