Thanks for using FixYa. From what you have described it seems to be the Thermal fuse that has gone bad. The thermal fuse is mounted to the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel. When this fuse goes bad it should be replaced as it cannot be repaired. You can test it for continuity between its two pins, no continuity means bad fuse. If this is fine then you’ll need to check the thermostat, igniter and coils. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

My kenmore 70 series dryer is working but no heat

The heating element in the dryer is got short and causing this problem. If the heating element checks out ok then its faulty timer motor causing the problem.this 2 parts are to be checked.First the heating element and next the timer control board motor. Locate the heating coil for the dryer along the back of the appliance behind the drum. The coil resembles a large, stretched spring.Check the back of the dryer to see if the heater coil is warming up while the dryer operates. Keep hands clear of the dryer at all times while inspecting the coil. If it does not begin to show obvious signs of warmth within one minute, the coil is likely burned out and must be replaced. You can also test it with meter. If there is no continuity the element is confirm faulty and needs replacement.--------- You can get required parts from .--------- this should help.Thanks.Helpmech.

Kenmore electric dryer model 68702894 turns but no

The heater element may have failed - however, first check the Thermal limit fuse on the rear of the machine (silver disc held by 2 screws). Check for continuity.

Kenmore dryer will not git hot HEATING ELEMENTS is good and thermostat is good

Hello, Ok if you have checked the heater, hi-limit, thermal fuse and thermostat and they are all good your problem is going to be with the centrifugal switch. This is built into the motor. To check this pull the wire harness off the motor and where you see the 2 big wires going into the plug make a jumper wire with 2 male spades and some wire. Jump this wires and then run a cycle for a few seconds. if the heater comes on you have found your problem. This will require you replace the motor. Hope this helps. Mike

Dryer starts but wont heat

There are 2 main cause for problem;

1) thermofuse may be fault or
2) you have bad heating element.

Check if you have continuity between 2 connectors on thermofuse; a black disc usually found at the back of the dryer. If it is okey, check the heater.
It's got to be one of these.

Dryer won't heat up.

Hi, To get to the heating element you will need to remove the 2 screws holding the door hinges and the 2 screws across from them. The door can come off or just hange on the hinges. Now remove the front panel pulling it toward you. After the front panle is off. locate the heating element and check it for coninuity. If the heaters checks ok, check the thermostats and make sure they are ok.
I hope this helps you. If I can assist you further, please let me know.

Dryer runs, but there is no heat

The first thing I would check is the heating element. if that proved to be ok I would go after all the little safetys that are mounted around the dryer at various spots to detect over heating etc. If you find any of them open that will be the orpblem. To get an acurate reading remove at least one of the wires from each disc/clixon and the heater element.

Maytag PYE3300AYW Elec Dryer Runs, But No Heat

hello kellygubser,
If you are sure the thermal switch is ok.. have you checked the high temp ( bi metal snap switch) too? Here is a link to the wiring diagram of your dryer. You can see that there are a few other temp switches in circuit of the heating element that would disble it.. Hope this helps

Dryer not heating up

Yup.. Same as a water heater.. Generally will run a constant 120V to the bottom Element and you can see 240 at the top and supply all day.. (Until the reset snaps).. Check for a Thermal and its probably the issue).. Snap disk in the shape of a football, Silver w/2-3 wires I/O.. Be careful if you dont work on 240V or electrical for that matter.(UNPLUG PERIOD)...Mine kicked out the other day when the main lost 120 and the house half quit..

Washes clothes fine, drying cycle no heat

Hi, I have a Hotpoint WD640 myself and funnily enough I have the same problem. Knowing a tiny bit about washing machines you will probably find that your heating element from the dryer has stopped working. If you can still wash clothes that means that your other heating element for the washing is fine and that your thermostat for the machine is also working. If you need to buy a dryer component may I suggest, I have just bought an element from them and it cost me £27.99 including tax and P&P. May I also suggest that you get a suitably qualified or competant (not saying that you are not) person to fit the element for you as you do not want anything to go wrong with your washing machine. Hope this helps :o)
