Question about Lexmark X4530 InkJet Printer

When I click the scanning button, the menu shows that it is trying to Download the Application List, but it never find the list. How can I scan with this printer?

  1. find IP address through printer: 192.168.1.103 (put in browser to bring up printer options)
  2. Check to see if computer is there within "Scan to Network Host Management" (if you are having issues with scan then delete the computer in question)
  3. Uninstall (from library lexmark folder), reinstall, go through setup assistant
  4. System Preferences: Check the firewall in the security tab
  5. System Preferences: Universal Access: Check "enable access for assistive devices"
  6. Open Lexmark Center: goto advanced: network scan settings: make sure the computer name is one word, no spaces.

A problem occurs with your scan driver. You will need to reinstall it to correct the problem.

Another way to scan is to use the scanner option in your computer. Go to Control Panel. Double click the Scanners & Cameras icon. Feed your documents in the printer before starting the scan process.

Mac OS X 10.4.11 can't communicate with the printer. The only thing I've been able to print is the Self Test Diagnostic Page.

How do set up my lexmark pro901 to scan to my pc so that I can email the scans


Make sure the Lexmark Pinnacle Pro901 printer driver is installed on your computer. If you have the install disc that came with your printer, just insert it to your computer hard driver and follow the instructions on your computer screen. You can also the download the printer driver from the Lexmark website at http://bit.ly/d3ftso. Select your operating system > download > execute the file. Again, just follow the instructions on your computer screen.
Note: The install disc contains the Lexmark OCR scan software necessary for scanning documents for editing and saving them as PDF files. The downloaded driver does not contain the OCR software.
To scan to your computer using the printer operator panel:

1. From the home screen, navigate to Scan to Computer: Scan > Scan to Computer

2. Touch USB-Connected Computer or the name of a network computer. The local or network computer is the destination that will receive the scan. Wait until the printer has finished downloading a list of the scan applications available on the selected computer.

3. Select an application (in your case your email), and then touch Accept.

4. Select the color, resolution quality and the original image size. If necessary, touch Accept each time you make a selection.

5. Press the start button to start scanning. The scan is complete when the application you selected in step 4 opens on the destination computer, and the scan appears within the application as a new file.

To scan to your computer using the printer software (Lexmark Printer Home):

For Windows:


1. Click Start.

2. Click All Programs or Programs, and then select the printer program folder from the list.

3. Select Printer Home.

4. Choose your printer from the printer drop-down list.

5. Click Email, and then select Photo, Document or PDF.

Note: You can select Document only if an OCR application is stored on your computer. Scanning starts and the scan progress dialog appears.

6. When the scan is finished, a new e-mail message is created with the scanned document automatically attached.

7. Compose your e-mail message. Note: If your e-mail program does not open automatically, then you can scan the document to the computer and then send it through e-mail as an attachment.


For Mac:


1. From the Finder desktop, double-click the printer program folder.

2. Double-click the printer Center to open the All-In-One Center.

3. From the "What is being scanned?" menu on the main screen, select a document type.

4. From the "How will the scanned image be used?" menu, choose To be viewed on monitor/web page.

5. From the "Send scanned image to" menu, choose an application.

6. Click Scan.

7. Retrieve the scanned image from the application, and then send it through e-mail as an attachment.

Hello, why is my printer aggravating me about some LCD list upgrade? I keep changing the shortcut list, and it still won't let me scan my drawings to my computer....


first .. make sure that you are able to scan from the computer.. using hp solution centre .. if you are able to do that .. then open the solution centre ,
Go to setup.. and then choose front panel setup button .. in that click on the button which says front panel settings.. this will show you a screen, in which there will be a destination list which would be most probably blank ..

this you will have to fill it.. with the same application which ar ther in the left (adjacent column) highlight on one of the application and then click on Add..

then just continue to click on Add.. and after you are done . choose update the device..

Come out of the screen and get back to the same screen to find if it is correctly populated (destination list)_..

if it is so, then try to scan. it should work ..
If not, then you may contact HP Tech Support .. to continue further troubleshooting..

My new Lexmark X5650 doesn't scan to computer. Each time I try it shows the message "Downloading Application List." The it shows "Application Acrobat Reader." After a while it goes to sleep, but doesn't...


I had my phone turn off,but can still use my computer on line,and now my three in one printer is saying downloading application and then it say can not retrive.

I have a Mac w/Snow Leopard. I cannot get to hp.com\support to download drivers for an Office Jet 7780. The Mac recognizes it as a printer but not as a scanner.


As from this link , the drivers for most HP printers are already built-in to Snow Leopard. Thus, they didn't recommend reinstalling driver from your HP printer CD. Here are some excerpts regarding scanning feature on Snow Leopard from the link: Scanning: The Scanning interface is now built into Snow Leopard and supported with the Apple Image Capture application. Instructions follow. NOTE: HP Scan Pro software (from Mac OS X 10.4, 10.5) is not supported in Snow Leopard. The HP icon for HP Device Manager still in the dock after upgrade is not functional and should be removed. NOTE: Scan support from pushing the Scan button on the printer is not supported with this version of the scan interface built into Snow Leopard. Scan functionality is supported by scanning directly from the computer.
** there are methods on how you can scan on Snow Leopard from the link that I've given above. But I'll paste here Method 3:

Method three: Scan from Print & Fax > Printer browser
  1. From the Apple menu, choose System Preferences .
  2. Click Print & Fax .
  3. In the list of printers on the left side of the dialog, select the HP All-in-One to view the options in the Print & Fax window.
  4. Click the Scan tab, and then click Open Scanner . The Printer Browser window appears.
  5. Click the Scan icon at top right of the toolbar to launch scanning. The scan interface opens. Click Show Details to view settings and options.
Important Gotcha: If the Scan or Print icons do not appear in the Printer Browser window toolbar, you need to delete the current HP printer queue and add a new one, as follows:
  1. Close the Printer Browser window to return to the Print & Fax preference pane. Or, go directly to the System Preferences > Print & Fax pane.
  2. Select your HP printer in the list on the left.
  3. Click the - sign at the bottom of the list to delete the product from the list.
  4. Click the + sign at the bottom of the list to add the product back to the list.
  5. Select your HP printer, and then click Add to create a new print queue. The next time you open thePrinter Browser window, the Print and Scan icons should appear in the toolbar, providing access to Image Capture.

Try to scan by pressing the scan button on the printer, if this works. Then try to scan from the application that came with the printer. Please let me know the results.

Please follow the steps given below to add applications to Imaging studio:
1. Open the Imaging Studio and then click "scan," after the scanned document appears as a preview.
2. Click "Other Software" at the bottom.
3. That will open up the list of application list, to modify the application list, click on "Modify Application List".
4. Please add the application you want to scan and click on "Close."

When trying to use the lexmark scanning program, press the scan mode it states it's downloading Applicaion list but when finish it says Cannot retrieve Application list.


If you originally installed from a CD, try uninstalling (should be a shortcut in the Start menu) and then downloading and installing the latest driver from the web. Lexmark had this problem with some products and the web driver may have a fix for it.
  1. Go to the Lexmark Find Drivers/Product Selector page.
  2. Enter your model number (for example, X3550) under "Search by Model", and click the Search button.
  3. Select your OS from the dropdown (XP, Vista etc.).
  4. Click Download Now.
  5. If you're asked to Save or Run, choose to Run (it keeps you from having to go find the file and double-click it later).

Scanner issue on the HP 1610 all in one


Hi, Let me explain you the real cause so that when ever you face this issue with any printer you will be able to fix this in quick time. The scanning needs Bi-directional communication and as you are able to print and scan from the computer software fine this shows that the software part of scanning exe file is working fine. Please try to scan from software and if this works we have to next check for full feature HP software is installed in the computer. If you are able to scan fine from HP software check for the DIGITAL IMAGING Monitor Icon it will be a green icon in the system tray in the right corner of desktop this icon must be present to enable the scan from front panel scan button. If the icon is there right click on it and exit it and then search for hpqtra08.exe file in the computer if the file is found double click on the application file to get the icon back running on the desktop. Once done try to scan again from the front panel scan button and check if the issue is resolved. If the Digital imaging monitor icon is not on the desktop system tray search for the file hpqtra08.exe in the computer and excute the application file . Even if the icon is there and you are not able to scan from the scan button we have to set the settings in the HP software In the HP director click on settings >> scan settings >> scan to button settings there click on the Destination list button this will open a small window with Two boxes 1)Available scan list 2) front panel scan to list all we have to do is to move all the programes from the available scan to list to front panel scan to list by selecting each program and click on add to move it to right. Once done do not forget to save the settings click on OK to save the settings once done try to scan from scan button this should fix the issue. The Digital imaging monitor icon or Hpqtra08.exe file should be running to enable the scan function from the scan button ... I hope this will help you in solving the all the issue in future related to scan butto not working the same steps applies to NO SCAN OPTIONS message on printer when you try to scan .....
