I hope you use genuine canon ink because non-genuine tends to block the ink pipes, canon usually gives 3 years of guarantee, take the printer to your nearest canon support branch for repair.

Magenta ink won't print though cyan and yellow print okay after refilling for the first time. Also, everytime I remove cartridge (color) the print head is full of ink blot. (is this normal?) I have tried...

Sorry for the delay in my answer. No you do not need to remove the ink from the cartridge itself. Soak remove the cartridge and soak it as is. You will get a huge colour change in the water but it will not use any more than 0.1ml of ink

Canon Pixma yellow color problem

Either the ink you are using is not going to give the color you want, or you have print heads that are blocked.

My printer has stopped printing from the cyan ink

Hi, did you let the ink cartridge dry out completely before inserting a new cyan cartridge???

If this is the case you may have a bit of trouble getting the ink through the have to persevere with deep cleaning and/or head cleaning...
if that does not work you may need a new printhead...which is usually dearer than a new printer...
I would also take the printhead out and clean the contacts with Isopropol not get finger prints on the contacts...that will stop it very quickly...
just a thought...did you remove the sealing tape over the airholes and bottom feeder hole on the cartridge???
if the airholes are sealed the cartridge pulls a vacuum and the ink will not flow...
hope this helps you...

The printer cannot use photo inks like Photo Cyan or Photo Magenta. Be sure to use "BCI-6 Cyan" in position 5 - farthest to the right.

Pixma ip4200 willl not print Cyan

I think the problm lies between the ink tank and the printhead. When this passage runs dry, sometimes it takes time for the ink to fill this passage again. Try printing again after a day or two.

Pixma IP4200- not printing color

If it's a generic ink, try another one, if it's a Canon ink, make sure the tape on top is removed, it covers an air vent, if that doesn't help, you need a new printhead, QY6-0059-000 around $40.00

Color ink cartridge does not print in full colors

Canon printers do not like the refilled ink cartridges. After having ruined a few printers trying to "save" money. I went back to genuine Canon ink and have never had a problem since.

Canon pixma ip4200 colours are yellowy orange on teh photos - dont match on screen colour nozzle check shows the second of the cyan lines as very faint

(Had already done two deep cleans)
1. removed all print cartridges keeping them together and upright
2. qtip (cotton ball on a small plastic stick) soaked in generic nail varnish remover {alcohol based)
3 cleaned print head where cartridge sits repeatedly until no more ink came off on the cotton wool
4. did a deep clean twice
printer then functioned properly
