Hello

The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel after dropping it. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.

Use these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.

Firstly , try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.

Try holding the shutter button while switching on the camera.

Look at the lens , and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).

Try gently pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.

Another way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the camera is enough to get things going again.

Try hitting your camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of your hand.

Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair center for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to replace the camera.

If it is still under warranty I would suggest you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

Hope the advise is useful.

Regards
Andrea

System Error (Focus) ...Lumix DMC-FS15 works, pauses, then results in a white error screen with the following error message:

My camera started bringing up "system error (zoom)" and it was completely inoperable. I would turn it off, but the lens wouldn't retract unless I applied slight pressure to it. I was able to FIX this problem by applying some lubricant oil to a Q-tip and swiping it around the telescoping parts of the lens, being very careful to stay away from the actual lens. I turned the camera on and off a few times so the oil could work its way into the parts, and it fixed the problem. I don't know if it will be a long term solution, but I can at least download my pictures to my computer now!

Camera will not operate properly. Picture is fuzzy and colours are not right. As though everything is rainbow coloured

On the tiny lens you can; as on ordinary camera lenses, turn it around to sharpen the picture in different distance's. Try!

System error: zoom message with Panasonic Lumix FS15 camera

I had the same problem, i switched the camera on in capture mode and zoomed in and applied a little pressure to the lens which made a slight click but retracted and has worked fine since. I may of just been lucky but the camera is fully functional again, could be worth a try.

I unable to view from my Calileo F1100 x 102 mm Catadioptirc

Since you can focus on trees during the daytime nothing is wrong with the telescope-- most objects in the sky are very tiny-- you must be pointed directly at them to see them. During the day line up the small finder telescope on top with the main telescope-- then use the small finder to point the larger "tube" directly at the object in the sky.

Lens stuck

It sound like a problem with the zooming mechanism (lens would not retract or extended) Press the power button on and hold it down while extending and twisting the telescopic zoom lens. It might fix your problem. In any case it could not make it worse Good luck!

Telescoping lens problem

Hi, Tosty I have had this problem for what seems like a couple of years now. I simply turn the camera on, pull the lens out with my fingernail a little, and then grab the OUTER telescoping ring and turn it gently counterclockwise until it locks into position. When you turn the camera off, turn the Outer ring gently CLOCKWISE and help it retract and turn off. I have been operating like this for quite a while. Now I have the dreaded "Black Screen" problem. If I'm reading the postings correctly, I think the internal shutter is locked closed and I need to take the camera apart (keeping track of all the tiny screws!!) and attempt to unlock the shutter. Good luck!
