Question about Washing Machines

Open Question

My ARDO TL 1010 E never starts washing now. It just loads water, does not turn at all and then stops with End of program. When I try Scarico e Centrifuga (clothes-wringer) program only, it uloads some water and turns several times slowly, then stops and waits indefinitely. I have removed the cover and there seems to be nothing wrong, centrifugal basket turns freely.

Almost sounds like a timer or timer motor problem.  Could also be a loose wiring harness around the timer.  When you said it when into spin, but the next day, did the timer move at all during the "break".  Usually, a lid switch will give off that "tell-tale" clicking sound when lifting the lid.  See if it makes this noise, but it really doesnt sound like a lid switch issue.  Really sounds like a dead spot, or spots, in the timer.  Let me know.  Jim

My washer won't work after we moved it into a new house, and I found a fuse in the floor beside it but couldnt find anywhere it would go. Is the fuse from the washer?

SOURCE: Visible water level in front-load clothes washing machine?

Yes, it is normal. There is water in the machine. One of the big draws for this style machine is that they use much less water than top load machines. If you stopped the cycle and opened the door, dug down in the clothes, you would find water. The machine fills a small amount of water (below the level of the door) and tumbles. As the water is absorbed by the clothing, the water level drops, so the machine adds more to maintain the water level. This is basically how the washer figures out how big your clothes load is and how much water that load needs. (Of course most sales persons at the big box stores and Sears have no idea how this works)
If you'd like, try running a cycle with no clothes to see how much water is in the machine. (It's not a lot) Now remember this: Because there is so much less water use than a top load machine, you must cut way way way back on the amount of soap and fabric softener used. Use no more than one tablespoon of HE (High Efficiency) soap (even less if it is 2x or 3x concentrate) and one teaspoon of fabric softener per load !!!!!
This should be a Fix-Ya for your question. Thanks.

My maytag neptune tl stops after wash cycle it will start for a few secounds then stops and will continue this start stop action till i hit the stop button

The washer is trying to go into spin but failing. The two sprag clutches are probably sticking, This usually indicates a water leak.
The seal should be replaced. The bearing and sprag clutches should also be checked and will probably need to be relubricate or replaced.

Maytag Neptune TL stops spinning mid cycle? The washer stops with 11 to 13 minutes from the end of the wash cycle and leaves water in the wash tub. We've tried shifting the load for balance but it does not...

I feel you have a Clutch malfunction a very common problem with the machine. If you want to DIY the fix see my Clutch Fix post.

Maytag Neptune TL clothes still dripping wet after full cycle

Pump out time of 40 seconds sounds good.

No ND error code and you spin up to 850RPM which is max for the machine.

You have no standing water in the wash basket.... I'm scratching my head.

Could you do a Spin Only cycle with that same wet wash load and set the SPIN for Max Extract. After you start the Spin Only cycle put the machine in Service Mode and watch the RPM range. This cycle sets the display to 12 minutes. Let’s see if the wash load remains wet and what max RPM is reached.

""Maybe the pump is not turning on during the spin cycle?"" You have no standing water in the wash basket correct? I feel the pump is turning on or you would have standing water in the wash basket and the pressure switch would have never indicated an empty condition (Low Level pressure switch contacts) to the Control Board. The Control Board would have stopped the wash cycle with a ND for no drain error code.

The pump in the spin cycle will turn on a number of times see if you hear turn on in a Spin Only cycle

I just ran a Spin Only light wash load with about 5 gallons of water in the wash basket. Timer went to 12 min. I toggled into Service Mode to watch wash basket RPM. At about the 5 Min mark (toggle in and out of Service Mode) the wash basket reached 850RPM then a few minutes later it stepped down to 830RPM to end of Spin Only Cycle. You don’t have a water valve stuck open or you would flood/over flow of the machine. Did you here the drain pump turn on several times during the Spin Only cycle?

Maytag neptune TL

The machine needs to cut you a break;

“”i have a maytag neptune TL and there are several things wrong with it...1. I can't wash small loads it will stop at the spin cycle and flash dc””

This issue is a clutch issue see this post to DIY the repair.

“”it will wash fine on regular loads until it comes to spin cycle again and it will stop and flash nf””

This one is a little confusing the “nf” error is a No water fill error code. Check these two post for support regarding water inlet restriction or valve not opening properly.

nf post nf post 2

“”my fabric softener dispenser will not let the softener out neither will the bleach dispenser””

See this fabric softer post for support. The fabric softener dispenser may be clogged or the water dispenser valves feeding both dispensers may not be operating properly. The Service Manual on page 16 “Board Output Test” will give you support to turn on the Fabric Softener Valve and Bleach valve. See if you hear the valves operate in Service Mode”

My method may seem a little confusion for viewing water flow to the dispensers. This issue could be associated to the nf error you are receiving, restricted water flow (inlet screen clog) or cold water valve not working properly.

Post back for any questions or possible support I can offer. I’m an owner like you not a repair person but I’m very comfortable working on this machine. Rich

Spin cycle doesn't cut in

turn program knob to spin and hit start then hit cancel within 5 seconds hold down options and start/pause button this will put you in the self daignostic test
Turn the program knob (1) click clockwise from the
start position. The hot water solenoid will activate
and hot water should enter through the detergent compartment
Turn the program knob (2) clicks from the start
position. The bleach water solenoid will activate and
cold water should enter through the bleach compartment
Turn the program knob (3) clicks from the start
position. The bleach and the wash water solenoids
will activate and cold water should enter through the
softener compartment.
Turn the program knob (4) clicks from the start
position. The door lock solenoid will deactivate and
the loading door can be opened. When the door is
opened, the drum light should turn on.
Turn the program knob (5) clicks from the start
position. The washer will fill and tumble. Once
tumbling has started, the Boost Heater (if so
equipped) will turn on.
Turn the program knob (6) clicks from the start
position. The drain pump & door lock solenoid will
activate and the washer will operate in high spin.
then on the last turn it will give you the other error codes it has that code is giving usually is caused by a different code to clear the codes
.
• Turn the program knob clockwise 7 clicks from the
Start Position. The control will signal the last error
code.
• Press and hold the Options and Start/Pause
buttons for 3 seconds. The code will be cleared. you really need to clear that code first to do the test but it can be done in the daignostic test skip the rest first go straight to the 7 clicks and clear the code but dont open the door during the test otherwise it will give that code after you get it cleared go to the spin spot on the knob and keep turning clock wise to go through the test but give it at least 3 seconds for each test then it should display a different code and what ever it is email me and i can help you out at that point nick_bradford2003@yahoo.com i have alot of experence with appliances

Washing cycle starts and takes hours even for short cycle.

Try checking for good water supply.
Pull out detergent tray and check for good water supply during filling.
if poor filling-
Try checking the hoses.
Turn taps off, disconnect from machine, place hose end in sink, turn tap on and check for good water flow.
if the hose has a red indicator in the side of the hose (end which is fitted to the tap) - Red indicator is a failed hose.(for models with Water Stop hose type "B")
