It never hurts to start in safe mode. While in safe mode, some things will not be available to you. Be aware that there is a reason your computer is telling you to start in safe mode. Something happened, hardware or software related, that caused a problem. Windows allows you to start in safe mode to correct problems. Not knowing what the problem was, I might suggest starting in safe mode, then go to start, all programs, accessories, system tools, then system restore. Try to restore your computer to a few days ago when it was working properly. Then restart, and hopefully it will work.
