yes, the problem can be fixed but you need to have the technical know how of how to fix the problem.
The problem is most likely from the TV's Sound IC or sound chip.
I would suggest you take the TV to the nearest repair man to help you fix the problem. But if you feel its high time you got another TV, you can get a new one.
