Error code 106

do this
The error "ComponentMoveData...Error Number: -106..." indicates that the installer cannot decompress a file. This can happen if the CD-ROM is dirty or damaged, if hard disk space is insufficient, or if the installer conflicts with an application or device driver.
You could try copying the contents of your CD-ROM (or the essential folders) to your HDD or a network drive. You will soon find out of there is dirt or damage on the CD, and if not, you can easily then install from your HDD or network drive.

Brand new computer and i did not install the adobe it came with the computer Vista basic and i get the 1311 error message when i try to run adobe computer 1 day old !

no big problm if u comp is new r old...

When you try to install Adobe Acrobat 6, 7, 8, or 3D on Windows, the installer returns the error message "Error [1311, 1335 or 2350]. Source file not found: [drive name]:\ Adobe Acrobat [version]\data1.cab. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it." If you click Retry, the installer returns the error message "Cannot find the file Adobe Acrobat [version]\data1.cab."
Solution Perform one or more of the following solutions:
Solution 1: Check the Acrobat CD-ROM.

Make sure that the CD-ROM from which you are installing is free of dirt and debris. If necessary, clean the CD-ROM with a soft, lint-free cloth.
Solution 2: Temporarily disable anti-virus software, and then install Acrobat.

For instructions, see the documentation for the anti-virus software or contact the manufacturer.
Solution 3: Extract the compressed installation files, and then install Acrobat.

  1. Right-click the folder and choose Extract All.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions.
  3. To install Acrobat, double-click the Setup.exe file located in the folder that contains the extracted files.
Solution 4: Uninstall the CD-ROM drive and let Windows redetect it, and then install Acrobat.

  1. Right-click My Computer and choose Properties.
  2. Click the Hardware tab, and then click Device Manager.
  3. Expand the DVD/CD-ROM drives section.
  4. Right-click each device listed under DVD/CD-ROM drives and choose Uninstall. Click OK to confirm.
  5. Close Device Manager and restart the computer.
  6. After Windows redetects the DVD/CD-ROM drive(s), insert the Acrobat CD into the CD-ROM drive and install Acrobat.
Solution 5: Install Acrobat from the desktop.

  1. Insert the Acrobat CD into the CD-ROM drive.
  2. Copy the Acrobat folder from the Acrobat CD to the Desktop.
  3. Double-click setup.exe in the Acrobat folder on the Desktop, and then follow the on-screen instructions to complete installation.
Additional Information Errors 1311, 1335, and 2350 occur when the Acrobat installer is unable to access the necessary files from the CD-ROM drive. These same errors may also occur if antivirus software interferes with an installation or if the installation files are compressed.

Installation problem.. at the end of installation of the game ''desperados'' it is showing error occured during installtion and gives a error number as ''2''.

Error 2 has to do with your cd-rom not reading the disc correctly. Make sure the lens on the cd-rom is clean and it should install without a problem. You'll need a cd-rom cleaning kit for this.

Also if you can try installing the game on another computer. You should also check your CD's surface. Good luck

Can not use the cd - rom. It does not open automatically.

Hi arganamj,

I assume you are using an IBM based PC, not a mac (in other words any computer not a mac). If that is so, then your CD-ROM drive has a mechanical release, not electrical.

Simple way to determine if your CD-ROM is stuck is to insert a punch into the release hole next to the normal eject button on the CD-ROM's front faceplate. It is a small hole about 2 millimeters wide, and if you bend a paper-clip into a straight line it is very easy to press the spring-release mechanism and eject your CD.

If this does not work, then your device is clearly jammed or defective, and would need to be repaired or replaced.

If this does work, inspect the CD tray and make sure there is not a CD stuck inside of the drive. After you have done all of this, and the drive is still having problems ejecting from the machine, it's time to look at your drivers and make sure your computer is talking to your CD-ROM properly and knows how to use it.

You might have to download new drivers from your manufacturer's website in order to repair a broken or missing driver on your machine. I would suggest not attempting re-installation of drivers yourself unless you feel capable of removing windows operating system components.

If you still would like to try that if you are willing to re-install your drivers through trial and error, post again and we can walk you through some of the process of driver installation. Hope that helps.

CD ROM not working

from microsofts site:

Code 10 loadTOCNode(2, 'moreinformation'); If the device has a "FailReasonString" value in its hardware key, that string is displayed as the error message. The driver or enumerator places this registry string value there. If there is no "FailReasonString" in the hardware key, the following generic error message is displayed:
This device is either not present, not working properly, or does not have all the drivers installed. (Code 10)

Try upgrading the device drivers for this device.
Solution button: Update Driver

To resolve this error code, make sure the device is connected to the computer correctly. For example, make sure all cables are plugged in fully and that all adapter cards are properly seated. Follow the suggested solution button and update the device driver. It may be possible to remove the device and redetect it using the Add New Hardware wizard
