Hello dee

Does the camera work can you view it in another program?

Try reinstalling the camera drivers, first uninstall it from the device manager

1. right click on my computer
2. click manage
3. on left side of window click on device manager
4. on the middle or at right you now see your devices click on imageing devices or look for your camera
5. right click on the camera and select uninstall
6. reboot your pc, it should reinstall when you login

7. if the problem is not solved try to update the drivers, right click on the camera in device manager and select update drivers.

8. if the problem is still not solved try reinstalling msn messenger. then configure it to use your camera again from the settings.

If this solution was any help at all please rate it as helpfull or fixya.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Can't use VPC-CG9 as PC camera.

I don't know why this wouldn't work on Vista HP, but this excerpt from the manual suggests that your XP SP1 Pro would not work without the SP2 rollup:

"Please perform the following upgrades before connecting the camera to a computer.
-Upgrade Windows XP to SP2.
Install Windows XP SP2.
-Install Windows Messenger 5.0 or later version.
Download Windows Messenger 5.0 or later version, and install it.
-If using MSN Messenger, please install MSN Messenger 7.0 or later
version."

Perhaps if you are following the steps exactly in the manual and it still does not work, upgrading Messenger will magically help.

This happens for new versions of the messenger as that doesnt support the 2MP camera.Reduce the picture size in messenger options to the 480x380 or any sizes nearer to it

HP webcam software downloaded, camera in port, now what?

Click "Tools" then "Audio & Video Setup". If it says your camera's working, then all should be well on your end. Then, if you want to connect to someone who also has a webcam, they also have to be set up to send and receive video and audio.

Make sure you are using the current version of of Windows Live Messenger (the new name for MSN Messenger) and select tools on the menu (its the icon of the right side of the program where it tells you how much email you have) and run the audio video setup.

HP WEBCAM DOESN'T WORK WITH INSTANT MESSENGER

Are you using Flash Player on MSN? This sounds like you need to turn on access from the flash player setting menu. This sounds like another issue with the latest update of flash player. Also, you might try 'unchecking' the box for 'use hardware acceleration' in the flash player settings.
