SOURCE: I purchased a Plasma Samsung 42
What a you are seeing is called "Diffusion Error". It means that the Panel has gone bad.
Sometimes it can be adjusted out but IT WILL come back even worse and contiue to grow worse. It is caused by a defective Panel. The only way to eliminate the problem is to replace the panel. Have a trained Samsung tech replace the Panel and make sure he adjust the Power Supply voltages to the Panel voltages that are listed on a sticker on the new Panel.

Hi there! The panel may be in protection mode. The Inverter board is the most logical area to start after checking power supply Voltages.(5,6,24 and 13Volts). There may be coils on the Inverter Board which have bad soldering or faulty. Other than this it may be main board which controls switch on or off. If all else fails, refer to a repairer. Beware of High Current!!! Best Wishes and Good Luck, Jus004
