Thanks Andy Perkins

    Thanks for the docs.

I've opened the front panel to reveal the ribbon and peeled back a bit of the touchpad on the side where the ribbon connects.

There is some grime around the leads which could be shorting?

Also, the ribbon itself is actually split - not broken- but separating like delaminating for an inch or so.

    Can that be normal?

Is there a way to replace the ribbon without doing the whole control assembly?

    Thanks

    Andy

HI. You should be able to see fault codes at this point and be able to initiate a diagnostic program. If you have no control over the board and no error codes are being issued, this will lead to a failed EOC(Main Control Board). You will need to replace this board. It has failed.

The EOC part number will be 74011872. Click on that number to purchase. I have also included the service manual for this unit, below. This manual will guide you through the replacement procedure, among other future issues, as well.

That is not normal. Unfortunately, the ribbon cannot be replaced. It is part of the control panel assembly. The entire control panel will need to be replaced if the ribbon breaks. With that said; Try to clean off that grime and reconnect the contact ribbon and test the unit. If it continues to malfunction, replace the EOC.

Clean the contacts on the ribbon connector thoroughly and reconnect it. Try to run a baking cycle and observe the actions of the unit. Try to use a button, as well. Let me know how it reacts after you clean the ribbon and contacts.

    Thanks again.

I've cleaned the gunk but nothing. I can't get any response at all from the keypad, though the clock is working as is the power loss alert from flipping the circuit breaker.

Looks like a call to the repairman. Ouch!

    Thanks for your help.

Ok, if you are getting that power loss alert form the board, it will not be a board issue. This will be a defective control assembly. That part is very easy to replace. The control panel is one whole front piece. That will be the culprit here and not the main board. If it can sense the power loss, that will exclude it form being the main problem.

Replacment control panel part number will be W10206071

  • Anonymous Aug 22, 2010

Any chance you have a part number on the control assembly? Is it something I could do? I'm pretty good at taking things apart!

    Thanks for all your guidance.

Sure, I actually just posted that number above. I will post it here once more below. You can also click on the number to purchase the control panel if you wish. Simply follow the directions in that service manual i posted for you to replace the damaged control panel. You can most defiantly do this yourself and save a bundle.

Part number for your new replacement control panel will be W10206071.

I'm sorry, the title"Control Panel Assembly Removal", will be located on the middle left section in the manual on page 25 and not the middle right...

Jenn-air JGS9900 downdraft slide in gas range - no power and electrical outlet IS working

There are several possible reasons why your Jenn-air JGS9900 gas range may not have power:
  1. Tripped Circuit Breaker: Check the circuit breaker for the range in your home's electrical panel to see if it has tripped. If it has, reset it.
  2. Loose Electrical Connection: Check the power cord connection to the range to make sure it is secure. Also, check the wiring connections behind the range to ensure they are properly connected.
  3. Blown Fuse: If your range has a fuse, check to see if it has blown. You may need to replace it.
  4. Faulty Control Board: The control board is responsible for supplying power to the range's electronic components. If the control board is faulty, it may need to be replaced.
  5. Faulty Igniter: If the burners are not igniting, the igniter may be faulty and need to be replaced.
If none of these solutions work, it may be best to contact a professional technician to diagnose and fix the issue.

FGGS3045

Good Morning Ralph,

I understand that you were running the self-clean cycle on your Frigidaire range, model# FGGS3045, and it stopped and the control panel went dark. I also understand that there are no lights of any kind. I suggest that you give your appliance a hard reset by shutting the power off at your home's circuit breaker for 3-5 minutes. Once time has passed, restore power to your oven.

If you do receive power and the control panel and lights come on, you will have to reset the clock before doing anything else. You will reset the clock by pressing the "Set Clock" button. "CLO" will appear in the display area. You will then enter in the time and press the "Start" button. "CLO" will disappear and the time will show. Once you have reset the clock, try either turning your oven on a bake cycle or the self-clean cycle. If the same thing happens, to where the control panel goes dark and the lights go out, I suggest contacting your local authorized technician.

If you do not receive power, I suggest contacting your local authorized technician for assistance. They will be able to diagnose your range and determine why there are no lights coming on, as well as no power to the control panel, and if there is a temperature cutoff that might possibly be causing your range to not have power. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Bosch HGS5052uc Gas Range oven control panel

RETURNING WITH A FIX! In our case the issue was the adhesive that keeps the control panel in contact with the touch controls had given way after years of heat stress. I shimmed the control panel back in place (possible with some small pieces of metal, I used coins) and it is working fine again.

We are having the same issue of the left side of the control panel not working. Unplugging resets the stove to the clock setting but I am unable to complete the clock setting without using the non functional side of the panel. I am thinking that it must be the control board but am puzzled that only half of the panel failed?

Water spilled down the stove top causing the oven

ater spilled (4-5 cups) on the stove top running down into the stove control panel face (where you view oven temp, timer, etc). No water ever dripped into the oven or oven window. The stove top still works but the oven, warming drawer, clock are all non responsive after three days. No buttons on the control panel work at all. What repair is needed?

STOVE STUCK ON SELF CLEANING CYCLE

Try pushing all buttons several times each to unstick a stuck panel button. If that does not work the ERC clock control will have to be replaced.
