Hi i have experienced the same thing and stumbled accross the solution if you take the main cover off and look at tha tank there are 3 heat sensors the centre one has a tiny reset button in the centre of it just push it down and you should hear a click
let me know if it fixes it

There are a couple of sensor switches on this machine to prtect user and also machine. flashing red right is the worning of some sensor is reporting unusual situation. Can I suggest you to check left side ground case is cleaned and pushed enough in to main unit, open the front upper door and check if brewing unit is staying right, water ok, having coffee, etc.

I bought a second hand Francis Francis X1 Espresso Coffee Machine & the gauge & Milk frother are no longer working. Any advice?

Perhaps the heating element is broken. Does it heat up at all? If not, the steamer won't work and there will be nothing for the gauge to register.

Starbucks sirena won't heat up; blue light flashing-brand new

johnshami had this solution on another post, and it worked for us:
  1. make sure the water in the tank is stone cold -- which is a no brainer since it will not heat h2o unless it's primed.
  2. take off steamer wand cover, turn the steamer knob clockwise till pump starts.
  3. then s*ck (as you would on a straw, with your lips sealed around the end of the steamer wand) the tip of the end of the metal tip hard until pump stops
  4. may need to do it a couple of times. yes this seems crazy, but it works! you are flushing out the vapor lock in the pump.

The machine lights don't turn on

sounds like you need to prime the machine. check the manual for those instructions. if (like us) nothing happens, then read on:

johnshami had this solution on another post, and it worked for us when the manual's instructions to "prime" the machine resulted in no water leaving the tank to enter the machine:

  2. take off steamer wand cover, turn the steamer knob clockwise till pump starts.

My Saeco Classico won't brew

Have you run a backwash on the group with espresso machine soap?
If no then remove the shower screen in the group and clean (that might be covered with coffee oils).

Nespresso D290

I hear you!! I found that you have to press the green steam light (left side) TWICE before steam is ready. After your second press, the machine will make pumping noise, then all lights will come on. From that point, the cappucino/latte steamer will work as manual describes.

Left power and steamer on overnight and now machine doesn't work

they have a heat fuse attached to the side of the pump so when you do what you did that melts and does not damage the coffee maker
They charge $100 to replace which is a bit tough, you could bypass easily but could damage to machine it not careful
as we have two and one has just stopped pumping, not picking up water so maybe worn valves and I just have it all to bits and saw the heat fuse on the side of the pump,
