What you probably need is defraging of your mp3. Not sure how Emerson works, but when it is USB connected, try this:
Open My Computer, select it's name (Emerson?), right click, select 'Properties', then 'Tools', run the 'error check' and the 'defrag'. If you can't find the defrag that way, put out the question of how to defrag your model.

I need to delete songs from my MP3 player.

Hello,

try formatting it. I think there is a problem with the player. If it does not format, then prepare to get another mp3 player.

Take care

I uploaded some songs in my coby705 mp3, but when i deleted the songs in my computer howcome it delete also in my mp3 when i uploaded a different songs? how can i save the songs in my mp3 sothat it won't...

Don't have the Mp3 player plugged in while you are deleting them. and if you don't have it plugged in then just make sure you have enough space to keep adding songs.

I have a emerson mp3 player and i cant figure out how to earse songs and start from scratch?

When you turn it on and go to the main menu look around through thier and look for a button with a garbage can and it should say delete underneath or above it. Click on that and it will give you the option to delete all songs or just some.

i have the same problem but i believe it is because of one computer using Fat32 file system and another using NTFS the only way i can think to fix it with out reformating is to make a FAT32 File partition on your computer so windows can operate in that environment for example if you used windows 98 to put music on this thing and then try to view it with XP the file systems are different and cant be recognized. you can make a back up of the system files for it on the computer. Format the device and then when you save NTFS files to it your new computer will recognize it. Im just trying to make sure that if i format the drive i wont lose the operating system on he mp3 player
