Garmin Nuvi 755t Stuck in power up cycle

You can do two things.

First, plug the GPS in overnight in a regular USB charger. If the battery charges up, then the problem is with your Garmin vehicle cable.

If it does not charge up, you can buy a battery replacement kit for it: https://www.amazon.com/Garmin-Nuvi-755-Replacement-Installation/dp/B003VFSR4M

I was using my Garmin sat nav when the screen froze. It would not even switch off let along allow me to do antything on the screen. It is 18 mths old.

Hello,

Allow the unit to power itself off by draining the battery.
Once that is done, connect the unit to a vehicle power supply or an AC power supply to charge it back up.
Try running the Garmin WebUpdater.
Download and Install WebUpdater.

How will you charge a gps nuvii garmin 1450 using computer?

To charge a garmin nuvi gps with your computer you connect your satnav to the computer's usb port using a mini USB lead. Turn on the computer and the satnav and the satnav will begin to charge. It will take approx 8 hours to charge compared to 4 using a car charger or mains charger.

My Sat nav is 2 years old and does not have the new irish roads. How do I update and how much does it cost

You can get information on how to update your garmin satnav at http://www.fixya.com/support/r5628920-update_garmin_satnav_maps

You have 2 options when updating, to get a one off update or a lifetime update. (i.e. the lifetime of your satnav rather than your life)
The one off update will cost approx £50.00 or the lifetime update will cost approximately £75.00
If you can afford it the lifetime update is well worth paying the extra for as there are 4 updates every year and it keeps you up to date. Also sometimes when maps get too out of date it causes problems for the satnav and it stops working so it's cheaper in the long run to have the lifetime update.

How to charge battery

There are 3 ways to charge the battery in your garmin nuvi satnav.
  1. Connect it to a computer with the mini USB lead that should have come with it or can be bought in any computer shop. This is the slowest method taking approx 8 hours.
  2. Connect it to your car cigarette lighter with the charger lead which should have come with it. This takes approx 4 hours to charge fully.
  3. Charge with a mains charger. This does not usually come with a satnav but can be bought seperately in shops that sell garmin satnavs. This method also takes approx 4 hours to charge fully.

Hello. I have a Garmin Nuvi level 200. The car charger was damaged so I have purchased two at two separate stores. Neither works. When you plug it into the car charger, an icon showing "garmin connected...

The problem is not the power lead. It's the socket on the back of the satnav. Due to wear when you plug in the mini usb plug it feels as if it's fully in but it's not. Push it in further and it'll work ok.

My 6 month old Nuvi 760 turns on, but no signal

It is entirely possible you need a new battery. Use and abuse shortens the battery life. Starting the engine while GPS connected or overcharging on AC or PC.

If it fails to acquire on full charge or replaced battery then it has a damaged chip from the usage i stated above. Not warrantble either.

2 Garmins, BOTH shut off right after they are turned on

Waking up your c330...

If you left your Garmin c330 on running the battery will have 1% life left. If you turn c330 back on again, it will flash screen for 3 seconds then die, even charging it at this point will not wake it back up. TO BRING IT BACK TO LIFE... plug in the power home or car into Garmin c330. There is a tab in the front Garmin gray frame of your screen. You must take like your fingernails and under the logo "GARMIN" pull the whole gray plastic frame off. Underneath the plastic frame to the right hand side. There is a "RESET" button. Make sure power is plugged in while hitting reset. Your battery should come back to life. Cheers

<<<<<REPLY: In your case, the battery seems to be getting weak. You must change it.

First time use / battery charge

The Nuvi units are short on battery life and therefore Garmin has given you a connector other then USB to power your unit while in a car. You need to carry that. It's just a design flaw. If you try to rely on the battery of your Garmin Nuvi, you have less than 2 hours even on a full charge. And carrying the USB adapter which plugs into the cigarette lighter socket won't allow your unit to run while charging. so you need to take the adapter charger bracket that comes with the unit if you need it for longer trips.
