Question about Garden

1 Answer

John Deere X324. Debris sticks to perfectly clean mower deck above the middle blade whenever the mower is modestly challenged with grass too long (1 foot or so). It seems as though it won't carry the clippings from left side to discharge without hanging up above the middle blade. Slowing ground speed doesn't make any difference. When it hangs up, the only way to clear it is to disengage the mower and let it drop, then it isn't long before the same thing happens again. Max engine speed is 3320 no load. Is that fast enough? I've been trying to speed up the engine to 3600, but the plate the throttle cable is hooked to is all the way up now. Is there further adjustment elsewhere? If engine speed is not the issue, then maybe I am asking the mower to perform beyond its limitations, or I should try a different style of blade......

Hi. Your mower is designed to mow the lawn, not clear a meadow of foot long grass. if you must mow long grass try raising the cutting deck as high as it will go, usually about 6 inches, and then mow. Once the area is mowed lower the deck to the final height, say 3 inches and mow again. J.

LA105 DECK MULCH DEBRIS COMES OUT RIGHT FRONT.

Possible cause could be a build up of grass or deb re under deck which needs scraped and cleaned out, or a damaged, bent or rusted out baffle which is not channeling the cuttings correctly, and finally check for bent or damaged blades.

I just bought an old John Deere 68 riding mower but it does not cut grass even though the blade spins when engaged. I made sure the blade was on correctly but it still doesn't cut. I noticed the pulley...

Are you sure it is the correct blade and when it is turning the sharp edge is on the leading side? A spinning blade will cut grass even if the blade is dull. Did you lower the deck to the correct level?

I have a John Deere LA105 Riding Mower and when I mow it leaves a strip of grass in the middle. Left and right sides are cutting fine. I have taken the blades off and shaarpened them and have leveled...

jack the tractor (using a tractor jack) or remove the deck, measure the blade tips against each other where they meet in the center of the deck and see if they are the same tip to tip. Bearing wear, a bent deck or blade can make them cut at different heights in the center.
