Then it ask for user name and password. Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank. Then you can see configuration page of router. Then click on WAN settings then make sure it is configured properly as your internet service provider settings. Enable DHCP then save settings and restart router. Then go to your computer's network adapter tcp ip property and enable "ip get automatic " then apply and ok. Then it will get ip from router. Let me know if you need further assistance. Gdbrenner

Sometimes if there is a power spike ether on the AC power connection or on the network line this can cause the router setting to get messed up. If you can let me know the make and model of router you have I can help you get access to it and reset it if need be.

How do i connect my WG302 to my laptop using a console cable?

if Windows
go to dosprompt on p.c or start run cmd <press the enter key>
type in ipconfig <press the enter key>
was the ip address of the laptop 192.168.0.210 with a subnet of 255.255.255.0 ?
note the ip address of the laptop and the subnet mask
If the ip address is not 192.168.0.210 then go into the network settings and set the laptop up with 192.168.0.210 and then make it a static ip address.
go to dosprompt on p.c or start run cmd <press the enter key>
type in ipconfig <press the enter key>
was the ip address of the laptop 192.168.0.210 with a subnet of 255.255.255.0 ? (if not restart the laptop ) and check again
Next question how did you connect the wg302 directly to the laptop was it directly connected or was it through a network switch or network hub. Most likely the Cable router or DSL router has a DCHP server assigning different ip address lease range. You can either change the ip address of the access point device to one in the original current router lease range and assign it as static for the wireless access point device in the dchp lease table or assign the wireless access point with the second ip address as an example 10.0.0.2 and make sure the router dchp server allocates above 10.0.0.20 then temporarily connect router to laptop and temporily set laptop with 192.168.0.210 and then log into access point and change ip address to 10.0.0.2 for wireless access point device and turn off its dchp server. Then change laptop to use dhcp while connected into network hub or network switch with original router and restart laptop wired back into original normal network.

Printer offline and not printing

Since this is a network printer there are a few potential sources for problems.
  1. IP address conflict. When items on a network are powered on and off sometimes the auto-assigned IP addresses aren't refreshed. The router may think the printer isn't there and re-uses the IP address for a new device on the network, but the printer is still trying to connect with the original IP address.
    1. Log onto your router. See if the printer shows up in the DHCP Client Table of your Local Network - it may have names or just MAC addresses depending on the router. You can print out a test sheet from your printer and see what *it* has as it's IP address and see if that's assigned to something else.
    2. If you do find a conflict, the easiest solution, IMO, is to assign a static IP address to the printer.
  2. Bad cable or hub. Both can go bad and a problem with either will cause the printer to appear to be offline.
    1. Check for lights at both ends of the ethernet cable.
    2. Try a different port in the hub or router
    3. Try a different cable
  3. An recent update corrupted your printer settings.
    1. Uninstall the printer, then reinstall it

Router modem-CAT5 adaptor

does this router have a lan1 lan2 lan3 lan4 ports ?
the adsl port may be for a phone line so you may need to turn off the ADSL functions in the Huawei Echolife HG520s router . Turn off the DHCP server and then plug connect lan1 to your office network. Change the ip address to be unique in your office network ip network range.
maybe 192.168.0.2 if office router is 192.168.0.1 subnet mask made the same .
