Hi,

Offhand, what I would suggest is to tweak your OS for maximum performance (not necessarily faster but more efficient and stable). Things you can try are:
1. right click on "My Computer", click on "Properties";
2. click on "Advanced" tab, click on "Performance Settings' button, in "Visual Effects" tab, tick "Adjust for best performance", Apply;
3. in "Advanced" tab, tick both instances of "Programs", Apply;
4. click "Virtual memory" "Change" button, tick "Custom size" type in 2048 or whatever it is that is twice of your memory on both Initial and Maximum, click on "Set" button, OK. OK;
5. Goto Start, Run, next small window type "msconfig" less the quotes, OK;
6. in the "System Configuration Utility" window, "Startup" tab, un-check everything (except perhaps your anti-virus), Apply, OK;
7. Reboot.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

The touchscreen doesnt respond

Hello,

Are you sure that you have updated the driver to its latest and correct driver version? Try restarting it and check if it works. Sometimes, they just need restarting to work fine again.

If restarting it won't fix the problem, then you can install http://bit.ly/rsdriver and use it to scan your computer. It will detect all outdated drivers and it will update them correctly.

I hope this helps!

During gamming im getting freezing and flashing yellow light, on the power button.

Hello there, I am the computer technician that will be assisting you today. My name is Norman-Wynne Damstra.

Welcome to Fixya, Miles Gordon.

This is a typical overheating problem. See, your computer heats up when playing games, in the first 5-10minutes. As the components get warmer they increase the air tempreature in your computer chassis. This heated air is insufficient to cool your Processor and Graphics card, therefore resulting in a Blue Screen of Death known as BSOD.

You are using the GTS240 Graphics card, it is a tiny tot so go easy on the detail settings.
Use the following settings:
Resolution: 1920x1080 if your LCD display supports it.
Anti-Aliasing: off
Anisotropic filtering: off
Set the rest to medium or low.

You will have to play arounf with the other detail settings depending on playability. If it's jittery set it to a lower detail setting.

Install 120mm or 140mm fans in your computer chassis if possible. You should at least have one installed on the side panel to provide freash cool air to the graphics card, processor and power delivery system ,MOSFETs. With an additional 120mm fan installed at the rear of the chassis to exhaust heated air.

Your power supply should be rated for at least 500Watts continuous power output, since the core i7 processor is rather power hungry.

Click here to download Hardware Monitor, to check your tempreatures. Click download now, save the file to your computer and install it.

Your processor temp, should be nothing higher than 70degrees C and the Graphics card nothing higher than 75degrees C.

Take care!

I installed a new graphics card and upgraded the ram and my computer still keeps shutting down when I try to play a game or click on a youtube video, news link video etc. please help me.

You need to now try with a fresh operating system, this is your last test as youve already changed the hardware components that commonly cause this problem, I'd happily bet it works on a fresh installation.

  1. Close any open programs.
  2. Start the shortcutcold.gifAdd Hardware Wizard.
  3. Click Next, and wait for Windows to search for Plug and Play hardware. Most newer hardware is Plug and Play, so you will rarely need to go beyond this step.
  4. If no Plug and Play hardware is found, a list of hardware types appears. Click Add a new hardware device, and then click Next.
  5. Click Install the hardware that I manually select from a list, and then click Next.
  6. In the Common hardware types list, click the appropriate hardware category, and then click Next.
  7. In the Manufacturers list, click the manufacturer of your hardware, and then in the Models list, click the model name.

    Or, click Have Disk if you have an updated or third-party driver to install for your hardware.
  8. Click Next, and then follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation.

SOHC-4836V stopped working. Has this message...Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19) Can I fix this myself?

if you have the installation disc for it you can reinstall the drivers

get the drivers from the internet and update it for your operating system...

(I'm guessing you either upgraded or clean installed a new operating system)

IBM Blue Screen

I had the same problem with an Intellistation 6868 for years. It just wouldn't load XP but ran fine on Windows 2000 SP4. I tried 3 different XP Installation CD's with no luck. After several attempts at installing XP I bought a clean XP Upgrade from ebay.

It took me 3 goes to install it but eventually I got it in there. If you can get XP to start on the 6868 press F8 and start it in safe mode first then when it's booted fully, shut it down and and then start it clean again. It worked for me. I've been running it for 5 months now and it's fine.

I couldn't get it to work at all on the 6868's onboard IDE so I installed a PCI Raid Card and it boots fine on that.

System:
IBM 6868 52A M-Pro Intellistation
2 x Intel P3 866 CPU's 256 mb cache
2 GB ECC RD Ram
2 x Seagate 320 GB 8MB Cache HDD on a Sunix ATA133 PCI Raid Card
2 x Seagate 10000 rpm SCSI HDD on Adaptec Raid Card
ATI 9520 AGP 128mb Graphics

I'm having trouble with the shockwave game supermarket mania, it was playing fine and now i try and play and in just get me to the exit screen. I would like to uninstall shockwave so i can reinstall it.

START - CONTROL PANEL - ADD REMOVE PROGRAMS THEN ....
First make sure you UNINSTALL the SHOCKWAVE GAME from the System... then make sure you don't already have shockwave installed on your PC. If you do... REMOVE IT! Reboot the system without either the game or the shockwave software .. once you have done that, First REINSTALL SHOCKWAVE, and upon completion of that install the game again.
Be SURE that the game does not try to install an OLDER VERSION of Shockwave with the game.
Hope that works for you......

Not exactly sure, but it seems that you should uninstall and reinstall you sound drivers. They may have become corrupt or it may point to hardware failure.
