These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Blinking light but not detected

Sub the cable if possible, if no! you may have a open winding in the hardware, not much you can do, the hard drives are sealed to keep dirt out and not made to be serviced.

My desktop computer won't turn on it just keeps blinking orange.

A computer that won't start can be both alarming and infuriating, especially if you're on a deadline or you haven't been backing up all your data (like we all tend to do). Don't panic, though-this problem often has a simple solution.

1. If your desktop computer does nothing at all when you try to start it, first check that the power cable is securely plugged in at the back of the computer as well as into a working power outlet. It's amazing how often this is the case.

2. If you're starting from a button on the keyboard, make sure the keyboard is connected to the computer.

3. If the computer is plugged into a surge protector, see if the surge protector has a reset switch that you can push. (If it doesn't have a reset switch and the problem is with the surge protector, it will need to be replaced.) Try plugging a lamp or other device into one of the surge protector's outlets to make sure it's working.

4. If you can hear the computer's fan or hard-disk drive, or if you can see indicator lights on the main unit but the monitor stays dark, make sure that the monitor is connected to a working power source, that it's turned on and that it's securely connected to the computer via the video cable.

5. If the monitor and computer have power but the computer displays a "Non-system disk or disk error" message, check to make sure you didn't leave a disk in the A: drive. If you did, eject it and restart the computer.

6. If the operating system still won't start even though the computer and monitor have power, try restarting with a Windows CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive or, if you've got a Macintosh, with a Mac OS disc in the CD-ROM drive. (You can start a Mac from the CDROM drive by holding down the C key while starting up.)

7. If the operating system then starts, your problem is probably with the startup hard drive or with the operating system installed on it. If you can't fix the drive, you'll have to replace it.

You can check it here as well:
The minute your computer's hard disk starts to act flaky, make sure you have an up-to-date backup. Then you can do some simple diagnostics and repairs. Both Windows and Mac OS come with built-in hard-disk utility software that scans your hard disk for errors and attempts to fix them.

1. Double-click on My Computer to open the My Computer window.
2. Select the disk that you want to diagnose and repair.
3. Choose Properties from the File menu. You should see the Properties window for the drive that you selected.
4. Choose the Tools tab.
5. Click the Check Now button under Error Checking Status.
6. Depending on your version of Windows, choose either "Thorough" or "Scan for and Attempt Recovery of Bad Sectors."

7. Click on Start.

How to upload pictures by my usb

That really is a matter of if when plugged in to the USB port of the computer you are using, if computer you are using can recognize the drive.

If you are using Windows XP, check "My Computer" and you should see the Kingston USB jump drive showing as an device icon.

In Vista and Windows 7 select "Computer" and you should also see the USB jump drive listed as a device icon.

If you are using a Mac OS X computer with your Kingston jump drive, providing the drive has been formatted with the Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format, or the MS-DOS format (which is readable on both Mac and PC platforms), it will show up
in the Finder sidebar and on your Desktop.

Either platform however, to load pictures onto your Kingston is easy, all you have to do is either copy the pictures from there respective folder or location and either right click on the Kingston 2GB HD icon and paste the pictures.

Or you can double click on the Kingston 2GB USB icon and paste or drag the pictures into the open window of the Kingston 2GB USB jump drive.

That is honestly as simple as it is.

Now, on the other hand, here are a few steps, if you want to upload to an online resource which allows photo uploads from another source, namely your computer..

When you use the upload feature of that website or webpage to upload your pictures to, no matter whether you are on a Mac or PC, you simply have to click that uploader's Browse or Upload button.

Next, simply locate the Kingston 2GB USB jump drive in My Computer, (Windows XP), Computer (Vista , Win 7) or Devices and/or Desktop (Mac OS X).

Then start selecting and uploading your pictures onto that website or webpage with your Kingston as the source drive.

Yes, I have given you a number of options, but hopefully you will see the ease of using any of these methods, again depending on what computer operating system you are using, how easy it is to upload photos from your Kingston (DTIU3/2GB) 2 GB USB Hard Drive.

Drive won't boot

Thry this: turn your computer OFF. Gently unplug and replace the data cable connection to the computer several times. Do the same to the drive end of the cable. Leave one end unplugged. Turn on the computer and when the Mac os is set up and waiting for you, plug the drive in and see if the computer recognizes and reads the drive. The problem is usually corrosion on the contacts that prevent proper contact.
