HI. This will most likely be an issue that concerns the inlet assembly. Use the procedure below to confirm the failure and replace the inlet assembly, if needed.

The water inlet valve can be identified by the water hoses connected to it at the back of the washer. Start by turning off the water supply at the valves on the wall. Disconnect both hoses from the back of the washer. Place the hoses into a bucket and turn them on to confirm that you are getting good water pressure and to clear out any debris from the line.

Inspect the filter screens on both the hoses and the inlet valve for debris build up. If you find any debris, clean it out. Use caution to avoid damaging the filter screens because the screens in the valve are not replaceable.

If debris was not present then proceed to the next step of testing the solenoids. Access to the valve may be easiest by opening the top or the back of the washer, depending upon make and model.

There are two wires connected to each solenoid on the water inlet valve. Label the wires and connections so that you can properly reconnect them later. The wires are connected with slip-on connectors. Firmly pull the connectors off of the terminals ( Be sure to not pull the wires). You may need to use a pair of needle-nose pliers to remove the connectors. Inspect the connectors and the terminals for corrosion. If either is corroded they should be cleaned or replaced.

Use a continuity tester or multimeter to test for continuity. Set the multimeter to the ohms setting X1. Touch one probe to each terminal. A reading of infinity indicates a bad solenoid that must be replaced. Different brands and models will have various measurements, but the valve should show some resistance if it is functioning properly. Test the second one in the same way as the first.

Make sure the washer water line is hooked to the hot water supply line in the house. If it takes a while to get hot water when you turn on the sink faucet, it will take longer to bring hot water to the washer due to the lower flow volume. If you bring hot water to the faucet first, then start the machine, it should solve this problem. The washer's heater should then raise the temperature to final requirements. Hope this helps!

WILL WASHING MACHINE WORK WITH ONLY A COLD WATER SUPPLY

Yes, any machine should work with just a cold water supply. The internal heating element will bring water up to the required temperature.

Most machines sold today have only cold water fill, as that is better for removing stains - putting hot water onto a stain will set it rather than remove it.

There is no cold water only hot and the machine shuts itself off before filling with water

Not enough information, but I'm assuming you have 2 inlet water valves. 1 hot water and 2 cold water. Possibly you connected the hot water to the hot water valve. It must go to the cold water valve instead. Not good to run the washing machine like that as it will bring other problems into play. (colours running, plastic distorting etc.). That's if it is very hot water.

There is a valve on the back of the machine which controls the flow of water

They sometimes go open circuit and stop letting water in or the filter which is just inside the inlet gets blocked and you get the same effect

Turn off the water supply and disconnect the cold fill line

Make sure you have a cloth to absorb the water which remains in the hose

Get a torch and look into the valve opening you may find that is it full of debris

You can pull the filter out with your fingers if it is blocked and then wash it out under a tap

Refit it and test the machine if it fills then make sure the connector is tight and put the machine back to the wall

If that does not work you can buy the fill valves from a number of shops , fitting is two screws and one hose clip

Hooking up the cold and hot water in back of the washing machine

In a word Yes!!

The machine will fill with Hot water to rinse and if that water is as hot as the normal supply your clothes will shrink and the colours will run.

You need the hoses and the supply to the hoses to be correct so that when you put it on a cool wash it fills with cold water and brings the temperature up to the right level.

Bringing in hot water will kill the soap powders action.

Also the machine adds hot and cold water to make sure that it gets a correct balance for other programs

If you are not sure how they are connected then look at the back of the machine, there should be either a H and C stamped into the backplate or the inlets are Red and (White or Blue).

If the hoses coming from the fawcets are the same colour then take one off the machine place the end in a bucket and turn the fawcet on , if it does not get hot then its the cold one so then make sure it goes back onto the C or the White connector

The krups coffee machine is letting out hot water but not coffee ?

If you find water in the spend grounds drawer or with the cup grid out you see water being dispensed into the drip tray your brew unit needs repair or replacement. If none of that is happening the tube that brings hot water to the brew unit is clogged.
