How do you get an icemaker in a subzero 650 refrigerator to stop making ice when the bin is full?

There should be a metal bar that flips when it hits the ice at a certain level. It should stop automatically. There is a problem with the sensor.

Good day,
No, a new water valve should solve that problem. The diaphram in the valve is not completely closing.
Very common problem.

Ice keeps forming inside on the back panel of mysubzero model 550

If the ice is on the back panel especially a block of ice in the middle left part of your panel, then you have a sealed system problem. Check to make sure that your condensor coils above the refer are clean, and if it continues to have an ice block then you have to have a technician come out an do a major repair. This is not something you can do yourself, most subzeros have a 6 to 12 year sealed system warrantee that covers either all of the repair or just parts. This is an expensive repair if it is not warranteed, but when the refers cost 8000 to 10000 new it is usually well worth it. Most often it is the result of a slowly leaking evaporator, though most inexperienced technicians replace the compressor first, so make sure you use an experienced Sub-Zero technician. Air in line to Subzero icemaker

Are you sure there is still water available to the ice maker?

Having a little air in the line might make the water spit a bit but it should be quickly purged and function again.

Also, lift the stop lever on the ice maker inside the freezer compartment, then let it back down to cycle the ice maker and see if that re-initiates the ice making cycle. You'll know because there will be water in the ice tray. It may take a few minutes to cycle.

It's also possible that when the water was turned off and back on, some debris in the water line made its way to the water valve for the ice maker and plugged it. Some units have a screen that can be cleaned, but make sure the water is off to the fridge before disassembling this line and attempting to clean any debris.

If your fridge has a control board on the back of the unit, un plug the fridge for about two-three minutes and then plug it back in to reset the system.

If you did get it to work again, toss the first two to three sets of ice just in case there was dirt in the line.

Freezer Drawer Stuck

Our 550 bottom freezer drawer froze shut earlier this week and the motor made an unusual sound, like it was working too hard. Two of us eventually were able to open the drawer to find that it had frozen shut due to a leak which filled the ice tray solid and then adhered to the actual door, freezing it shut. We emptied the fridge and freezer, turned the control dials down to 0, but neither the motor nor the light would go off. We finally killed the circuit breaker to get the appliance to shut down. It's cleaned and defrosted and we noticed that the gasket has torn in three places, two on the fridge door and one on the freezer door. The freezer door could be from our tugging, but the refrigerator door is normal wear and tear. We filled the tears with some kind of putty and when it is dry we will start everything up again. This is not the first problem of this nature we have experienced with our subzero 550, but it is the most dramatic. Each previous time we have called a repair man out and he has been unable to fix it.
