Internal speed of Acer Aspire One is extremely slow

The problem is that the Aspire One is extremely slow. it was designed to run a Linux operating system not windows. Microsoft just cut down Win 7 to make it work- It just doesn't work well. The only thing that may speed things up is an upgrade to 2GB of RAM. If you already have this then, you will have to live with it. Sorry.

Choppy internet connection

If you are a frequent viewer of Internet-based video, then you know how frustrating it can be when streaming video doesn't play correctly. When a video is described as being "choppy," it can mean several things, including out-of-sync audio, stuttering frame rate and/or inconsistent stream speeds. However, although this term can mean several things, there are several ways to address all of these issues at once and help make your video viewing experience a bit smoother. Empty your Internet browser's cache and temporary files. Click the "Tools" menu and then select "Clear Private Data Now" (in Firefox) or "Delete Browser history" (in Internet Explorer). When you browse the Internet, your browser collects information from the websites you visit and carries this information as temporary and cache files. Too many of these files can bog down your computer, so delete them. Disable hardware acceleration. Open your computer's "Control Panel" and then click "Display." Select the "Settings" tab, click on "Advanced" and then click "Troubleshoot." Drag the hardware acceleration slider all the way to the left. This procedure can help reduce the strain on your processor, which can lead to choppy videos. Add virtual memory. If you are using Windows Vista or 7, you can add extra RAM to your computer by plugging a USB mass storage device into the computer. The operating system will automatically convert the unused space into RAM. Run your disk defragmenting utility. Click "Start" and then select "Programs." Click "System Tools" and then "Disk Defragmenter." This utility will eliminate the fragmenting of files, which could be taxing your processor. Medion MD 96340 Video Driver not working

Hmm..Can you please run a "dxdiag" & paste the output here? You need to enable the hardware acceleration which means that the processing will be done in the video card (GPU) as well as in CPU. It speeds up the processing.

Wireless Connection Is REALLY slow

* 802.11n is a recent amendment which provides more speed So nothing to do with that

* Now with vista increase speed by
reality Vista has already taken 20% of your bandwidth to reserve for updates and all
For to disable it do following steps

1. type gpedit.msc in search box
then a Group Policy Object Editor will popup.
Under Local Computer Policy
click or expand Adminstrative Templates
next click or expand Network
then click on Qos Packet Scheduler (remember dont click on the expander here just click on Qos Packer Scheduler)
Now double click Limit reservable bandwidth

(You will see Not configured which is the default settings but in reality Vista has already taken 20% of your bandwidth to reserve for updates and stuff like that.)

Now click on Enabled then in the Bandwidth Limit (%) set it to 0 then click apply then reboot.
tried it and it does work

For downloadin and all use IDM(internet Download Manager) Has Great features has a good accelerator too

or

* Use Softwares Like SpeedConnect Internet Accelerator

SpeedConnect prevents fragmentation in data transfer using the TCP/IP protocols used on the Internet, greatly increasing the connection throughput and the download/upload speeds (Kbps).

Slow running laptop

I hope you are running enough malware protection; some of these (especially some types of spyware) can really drag your system down if not causing even more trouble.

Slow startup, slow responce.

Well this is an obvious fix but replace your HDD with a 7200 rpm SATA HDD from http://www.newegg.com
It should be a fairly cheap upgrade depending on how much storage you need.

You should see a significant improvement. I be willing to bet your HDD is a slow 5200 rpm and slow seek time.

Remember, the slowest parts of your computer is your HDD and CDROM

Acer 9300-5349 running Vista Home Premium

Hi run msconfig anything in there that does not start with c\windows or has a .exe file these are normally short lines means there is a bug in your system, and restoring it moves it to your restore point, my advise is to get an external hard drive move all your needed files to it then re format drive and start again. so far i have not found one anti virus or sytem cleaner to remove this bug so have rebooted and re formatted to save me grief.
