Question about Yamaha Audio Players & Recorders

1 Answer

I am considering buying a Yamaha CDC 697BL player. I want to be certain the output connection from it to my power amp is digital as opposed to analog. I cannot find a source to show the rear of the machine. Can you help?

How do you replace the belt drive in the Yamaha CDC 615?

The drive belt on my CDC-615 stretched out this year too, and needs to be replaced. Unplug the CDC-615 from power. Remove two screws on the left side of the housing, two screws on the right side of the housing, and one screw from the middle top of the rear panel. This will allow the top panel to be removed.
Temporarily re-connect the CDC-615 to power and power it on. Press the "PlayXchange" or "Open/Close" button, which will drop the laser pickup/play head and spindle, and start the open/close motor. Power the CDC-615 down while the motor is running, to leave the laser pickup/play head and spindle in the "down" position. You should now disconnect the CDC-615 from power once again.
From here, you can simply push on the CD tray from behind, until it's in the fully open position. This will reveal the drive wheels (one large and one small pulley) just beneath the tray on the left side, with the tray facing you. This is where the replacement belt goes.
Reverse the steps to put it back together.

I need a new dvd / blue player to go with my rx-v795aRDS Amp what work with this amp ?

Any DVD player will work with your receiver, as long as you are not using SACD output jacks. Not all units use this output, so if you are using these connections, make sure you buy another unit that also possesses these connections. HDMI connections are also something to consider. For more information, please visit my website at audioserviceclinic.com. Thank you.

My receiver says its analog input on the display ,,,is this a digital or analog changer yamaha cdc 565

All CD players are digital. Most (including your Yamaha changer) use a digital-to-analog converter to send audio to your receiver.

If you are like most people, the CD player is hooked up with red-and-white audio cables. This is an analog type of connection, and should still sound great.

Is there a way of connecting my ipod to my sherwood cd player?

The answer isn't with the CD player, it's with the amp.
Does the amp have selectable inputs, or does it just have one input for each channel?

If it's a simple power amp, then you'll have to unplug the CD player and connect your iPod to the amp inputs. I'm guessing that the CD player connects to the amp with RCA (phono) connectors like these ones.
If that's the case, you can get a cable (like this one at Radio Shack, but any office supply store will have one too) to connect your iPod to the amp.
