This is could be two problems 1 the cords 2 the connections try putting a new set of cords if that dont work you have a bad connector on the tv or on the ps2 also try hooking up with av cables and hdmi cables/
If it isn't turning on the power cable probably needs to be reset. Unplug the power cable from your Wii and the wall and let it rest for 10-15 minutes. It sounds silly, but try it. Nintendo built in a reset mechanism for power adapter failures.
There should be two plugs on the back of the sega. One for the power cord, and one for the audio/video cord. The audio/video cord is a coax cord with a little box in line. Hook your cable or antenna cable into the jack on the box and hook the end of the cable from the sega into your tv. There will be a switch on the sega or on the box somewhere that designates channel three or four, this is what channel your tv will need to be on to use the sega.
Your tv might not have the componet inputs. If yours are yellou red and white those are A\V inputs. The monster cord is green blue red and a set of red and white. You can get the A\V cable for the x-box for less than $20
Ok, a few basics to hooking up your console. Firstly you should have two cords a power cord that plugs into the wall and into the back of the console. Another cord should also plug into the back of the console and the other end should be plugged into the back of the television into the slot called in. However if this plug is already taken by a vcr you can hook the cord from the sega up to the vcr in port. After it's all plugged in and the console and tv are on and it's directly hooked up to the tv then change the tv channel to 3 or 4 and you should have something on one of those channels. However if you hooked it up through the vcr then you have to go to the channel that normal has your vcr then change the channel on your vcr to 3 or 4. I think this is all you need to know good luck.
