Turn the printer on.
Lift the cover to expose the print-head mechanism.
Wait a few seconds, and the print-head will slide to a position from where you can remove the ink-cartridges.
Look on the inside of the cover -- there may be instructions on how to change the ink-cartridges.

What does the errorcode 3c10 mean on a canon MP640

The ink absorber is supposed to be full. If you can find it, you could try to clean it by pressing paper towels there. Be aware the ink is mean. You can't wash it from your hands let alone from clothing.
Wear rubber gloves and have a bin close by.
After you cleaned the printer, pull out the power cord for a minute or so and then reconnect an switch on.

MP640 - After changing the ink-cartridge ,a message appear. "The following cartridge is unknown", U043

I would try opening the printer, make sure the ink cartridge is fully seated. Once that is checked, unplug the printer, wait a minute or so, then plug the printer back in and try to turn it on. If the problem persists, then try a new ink cartridge. If that doesn't work, there is something major wrong with the printer itself, and will be beyond anyone but a Canon repair facility to repair.

6C10 error cannon printer MP640

This error could appear on these Canon Pixma printers: MP110, MP540, MP630, MP620, MP640, IP3600...

Solution 1:
  • Move the printhead to the center.
  • Disconnect the printer and check on the right: is the purge unit ok ? No peace of paper ?

Solution 2:
  • Do a reset of the printer:
  • Power on
  • Hold down the "Resume" button (triangle in a circle) for 15 to 20 seconds.

Solution 3:
  • Power off the printer.
  • Open the door.
  • Power on.
  • When the cartridge is in the center, close the door.
Solution 4:
  • Open the lid and allow the ink cartridge carrier to center itself.
  • Looking to the right, you will see a row of white rollers behind the carrier.
  • At the end of the rollers there is a small, clear piece of plastic that sticks up. Take a small piece of a paper towel and wipe all of the ink off this piece of plastic. When that is clean move on to the ink pad.
  • About 1 inch, towards the front of the printer from that piece of plastic, is a small square, about 1/2 inch per side, that is a small foam pad. This is where the excess ink is collected.
  • Take a piece of paper towel and press into the foam. Do this until the paper towel is no longer collecting ink. Close the lid, turn off the printer then turn it back on.

How do you reink cartridge for mp640

Hello, I did a quick search and came up with this useful blog which, if you read some of the responses to, gives some links to some very useful info. Be aware, that as well as filling the cartridges with ink, you will have to program a chip on each cartridge with something called a chip resetter which, if you read the responses, someone mentions how-to-do and where-to-get and how much it costs.
