Question about Cell Phones
There is an IMEI number that would help to track the phone. It is usually on the battery or on the box given to you at the time of purchase. Few of the dealers also note down the IMEI number on the receipt of purchase.
If you do not have that information, it is not possible for you to track it. ( of course,in legal or criminal cases cellphone company could track it - It is only limited to government or FBI ).
People do download software's that would make cellphone disable or even ring you on an alternate number ( most compatible with Nokia cellphones ).I have no idea if you might have downloaded one of those software's.
The only thing you could do is to file a lost complaint regarding the cellphone.
Let me know,if needed further assistance.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!
