HI! im having trouble in installing windows xp sp2...it keeps on restarting. What could be the problem? Pls i need help....

please am having problems with my IBM thinkpad A22m. i tried installing windows XP. during the proces of copying files before the final installation. there were some files that where skipped from copying, at the end of that windows could'nt install. i removed the XP cd and tried another, unlimited this time. but to my suprise was still the same. i tried to reboot after some minutes a message was displayed.WINDOWS CANNOT BE INSTALLED or something like that. then my laptop could'nt startup.

I think you've problem with Harddisk.Try to find spare one and install again it should work. Very strange is that if you remove your hardisk out and test externally it should sometime work fine but sometime fail.I think it's a starting sector or some check up that windows or hardware need and it couldn't access it.

Usually answered in minutes!
I tried to format it several times. I deleted c: partition, created a new one and format it on a normal ntfs mode. I was able to install win xp but after an hour it started on hanging. After figuring out what could be the cause, I found out that the bios driver is not compatible.So, i searched for its compatible driver and installed it on safe mode..Thanks!!!
