I had this same problem.

The loud clicking is grinding gears because the paper feeder is stuck and can not rotate.

I looked and found a small plastic piece has obstructed the right side guide of the roller. I tried to move the black plastic piece preventing the rod from rotating... and broke it off. The printer works perfectly now, I have no idea what the little black piece of plastic was used for that fell into the wrong place.

Either way, you don't need it... just break it off, but make sure its the one I'm talking about.

It sounds like you may have sheared a gear tooth off the roller drive or the traversing mechanism. If you are getting copies just leave it alone.

When I print I get a loud tone for a few seconds, but it prints okay. What does it mean?

Either the laser is going out, bad bearings, or the toner cartridge is noisy, when you first power up the transport runs for a few seconds, remove the toner cart. and power up and see if it's quiet, if only when printing the laser is going out.

Loud Abnormal Sounds with each print job

It may be a paper feed issue. If using a duplexer, try removing the duplexing unit and try printing again. It's often attached to the back of a printer.

Loud grinding noice before starting to print

Mine makes a grinding noise when scanning or making copies. As long as everything is working, I just tolerate the noise in which the rest of the staff find amusing at first and then ignore it as I do.
