Question about Computers & Internet

Monitor is 22" Samsung 226BW. Problem is that it was blinking for a long time after I turned it on and after a while it would become stable and it was working fine until I powered it off and on again. Now after it's turned on blinking doesn't stop at all. Thanks in advance. Bojan

Hello,

The blinking or flickering problem you are having is caused by the power supply failing. There are parts called capacitors that start to fail which causes the voltages to not stabilize. When they rise and fall the display flickers until the voltages settle. We have an article posted on our web site at http://www.ccl-la.com/blog/index.php/samsung-214t-repair/ that explains what needs to be replaced and includes pictures with part lists. If you don't want to do the repair yourself we do offer a repair service, more information on this service can be found here: http://www.ccl-la.com/blog/index.php/service-request-form/

I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.

Samsung 226BW screen takes a long time to show anything

This model may have defective capacitors in the power supply. I normally replace the 2 or 4 bulging caps and normal function is restored.

Samsung 226BW 22" LCD wont turn on and flickers a blue light

Hello cstafford35,

Your monitor has a very common problem. The internal power supply has blown a part called a capacitor. If you are comfortable working with electronics and with soldering I can talk you thru the diag/repair. If you are not ready to tackle that we also offer a repair service, about $30 plus shipping for your model. Let me know if you want to try fixing it yourself and we can go from there. The repair will require opening the monitor case and replacing from 2 - 5 parts. You can call me at 318-447-9040 if you have questions.

Samsung 226BW won't turn on until a few minutes.

This is an indication that the power board in the monitor is bad.

Samsung 226bw weird display problems

At first you should clarify if your GPU or LCD is broken.
Do You have any chance to try another monitor with your Graphicadapter or to try your monitor on a different PC?
Moreover you should try it with a new cable.

The symptom of weird symbols sounds most likely like a overheated or wrong-plugged Graphicadapter

My Moniter won't work!

That high pitched sound in one way is a very good thing. It pretty much points out the source of the problem itself. That is more than likely either a blown capacitor or transformer on the power source inside the monitor. I would rule out the power inverter for the LCD backlight because the power light will not turn on either. I have found that Samsung is very good with their repairs, and if it is a somewhat recent model they should be able to get it drop ship repaired with little expense. That can be an inconvenience, and if you do decide to replace the monitor altogether, please be eco-conscious and have the old screen either donated to a goodwill organization where scavengers like me will buy it for raw parts, or to an electronics recycling center. E-Waste is becoming a very large problem and LCDs and flat screens are a hefty piece of it.

Movie on monitor

Hi, Normally I would suggest that you first lower your laptop's screen resolution, refresh rate and color quality and verify that you have enabled the external monitor or dual view in your Display Property Settings as well as the Fn key + F?. However, this kind of problem should not exist with an LCD Widescreen monitor with specs and features as your Samsung 226BW. If trying the reco on the first paragraph and you still have no movie display (but all other laptop display shows), perhaps it is a problem with the Samsung 226BW. To my knowledge, this particular brand/model uses no less than 3 different panel display, some not as good as the others. Verify that you have an original Samsung panel display in your Samsung monitor by looking at the sticker at the back of the screen, it should say Model: 226BW [R] S. If it says A or even a C, then perhaps the display panel is not living to its specs/claimed capacities. You of course can request a replacement from your dealer and cite your problem but insist that it be an "S". Most instances (but not always) an "S" would mean panel screen by Samsung, "A" by AU Optronics and "C" by CMO. Hope this be of some help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need further information. Good luck and kind regards.
