I have done that. I even tried a different battery from a different radio that works.

  • Randy Hartman Aug 22, 2010

You misunderstood me. The good battery didn't make a difference.

  • Randy Hartman Aug 22, 2010

    The battery is good.

  • Randy Hartman Aug 22, 2010

Also when you press the talk button it emits a tone continously.

  • Randy Hartman Aug 22, 2010

I have a Kenwood tk260 tranciever that will not transmit. It has 4 frequiencies in it. It will receive on all 4. When you press the talk button it emits a continous tone and the red light flashes red. If you try to transmit the red light flashes orange but nothing happens.

Hello.

The Low Battery alert causes the red TX LED to flash a warning when voltage drops. The Battery voltage is 7.5 V DC If the problem continues, replace or charge your battery (if rechargeable).

If you don't have a battery charger, I've seen them online, priced about $38 (USD). I've also seen a new rechargeable battery for $30 - $40 (USD) online.

Hope this helps.

Have you tried "rebooting" it. basically taking out the battery for about 15 minutes to a half hour. ?

does sound then like the battery is dying. especially if you can use another battery and it functions properly. the most inexpensive replacement batteries are likely found on ebay. make sure they are O.E.M tho.

i did indeed. the red light should be normal when you transmit. the flashing light usually indicates that the radio is trying to transmit out of it's normal band or that no antenna is present and that would be obvious to you. i presume this is not a new radio for you. if so was it working before. as it would appear it's not been programmed.

  • Randy Hartman Aug 22, 2010

It was working and just quit. It is a not a new radio.

  • Randy Hartman Aug 22, 2010

It has 4 frequeiencies programed into it. I can transmit from a different radio and it will receive but not transmit.

  • Roberta Smith
    Roberta Smith Aug 22, 2010

either antenna issues or it's not been programmed properly or it's lost it's programming.

  • Randy Hartman Aug 22, 2010

    How do I program it?

  • Roberta Smith
    Roberta Smith Aug 22, 2010

one other question before we get to the topic of how to program it. you mentioned it will recieve. have you tried transmitting on one of the other channels to the other radio ?

  • Randy Hartman Aug 22, 2010

Yes, all 4 do the same thing.

  • Roberta Smith
    Roberta Smith Aug 22, 2010

in that case i would suggest the transmit section of the radio has died. being a ham i'd just take it apart and try and sort it out but if that's beyond your capabilites you may want to take it to an electronics repair place.

  • Randy Hartman Aug 22, 2010

    Thanks.

  • Randy Hartman Aug 22, 2010

Somewhat what I expected. But didn't answer all my questions.

to program the radio you need the cable that hooks up to your radio and the specialized software.

I lost my ear piece for my Plantronics Voyager 500A so I am trying to pair a new earpiece. How do I do this?

1. On the base, press and hold both speak volume fine adjust buttons until the blue talk/on line indicator light and red power indicator light (on the front of unit) start to flash.
2. On the headset, press and hold the listen volume adjust + button and call control button until the status indicator flashes red and blue.
3. Pairing is complete when the talk/on line indicator on base illuminates solidly, and the status indicator light on headset flashes blue.

Important: Make sure your headset is not connected to any other Bluetooth device when attempting to pair.

Good luck from Headsets Direct!

Programming or Overriding the Alarm when you have lost the remote
Open driver's door.
Turn ignition key to 'On'
Press and *hold programming button* in (see diagram, button under dashboard)
After 15 seconds the the door locks will cycle 3 times. Do not release Programming button.
Press lock (left) button the remotes to be programmed. The door locks will cycle one time. Exit programming mode by releasing Programming button under dashboard and turning key to off.

codealarmremote1.jpgCode Alarm Programming Button is under dashboard on the kick panel by the driver's left knee, left of the steering column. If you can't find it, it might still be tucked up in the wiring harness higher up in that same general area. The botton is recessed in a plastic ring (see diagram).
This button must be pressed while programming remotes or if the battery was disconnected and the lights are flashing.

How do i program my kenwood tk260

You'll need the Kenwood serial cable and software to program this radio. Your best bet would be to contact a Kenwood Customer Service Representative directly. You should have the the radios in front of you when you call so that you can answer questions about them instead of having to call back, etc.

Kenwood contact information can be found here. The TK-260 radio falls under the "Land Mobile & Business" category.

I have a kenwood tk-272g and the keys are locked and i cant figure out how to unlock them, the owners manuals ii found online aren't helping me at all

One of the keys has been programmed as the lock button. you will have to experiment by holding each button for a couple of seconds until you hear a tone that tells you the radio is unlocked.
On the one I have for our fire and rescue it is the < button but it could be any of the four on the front or the two on the side below the talk button.
