Fault in the main controller board. Just to be sure please remove the battery after it is fully charged , now check if the current / (mA/hr available) on the battery by using a load of the same voltage maybe a high wattage bulb. If this lights well then the charge is good for sure. If there is a similar model replace and test. Now if the battery is confirmed we can move forward.
Keep off the battery for several hours and insert back, now power on and check if the fault recurrs,I am afraid we need to look into the circuit. Now the option of opening and identifying alone is no good if the part is not available and more so if only the sevice dealer has this part. So I sincere advice is to have this checked by the service centre to estimate and decide.
Hope this advice helps.

Dropped Lumix has lines on screen

Every time you open an electronic item, it could costs more than one third of its life. So open it 3 times and your not sure it will work again.
Some firms do refurbish electronics. These firms, if they act serious with quality, don't allow more that 2 openings on an apparatus. So you decide, live with some flaws on the screen and still shoot great pictures, or open the camera, hope to change the state to a "better" one, with a chance it will never work.
You could be lucky, but I would suggest not to try to repair this one, till you have a new camera.

what u need to do is if you have windows press ctrl shift esc and the task manager should pop up go to processes then on the list you would see Camtasia studio right click and select end process or if u see the name more than once end the process of them all the reason you have to do this is because for some reason the first time you open and close it it dos not actually completely close witch then gets in a glitchy state to where you can not open in again but by ending the process u should be able to open it again

The camera screen is displaying the "metadata" for each picture as you view them. Your computer screen does not. However, when you download your pics to the computer, the metadata goes with them. If you hover your pointer over each file, the info will appear. You can right-click and get even more info. Some photo editing programs will even give you every detail including the lens opening and shutter speed, the make of camera that took the pic, etc.

My kids accidentally dropped my Panazonic Lumix TZ-10 on the floor (not from a great height). The lens at that moment could only half close, but after turning power on and off a few times, now it opens and...

The warranty is unlikely to cover accidental damage but you could check if you have any insurance cover, perhaps in house contents or travel, or you might ask the retailer if he would help under 'goodwill'. It sounds as if the lens extension mechanism was pushed out of kilter and cannot now complete its opening cycle a last could try taking out and replacing the card or gently waggling the extended lens to see if this could help. Hope you can get it working again!
