Question about Hitachi P42H401 42 in. Plasma HDTV
It is alright to unplug even without switching off the main switch , I dont think that a damage can crop in because of this. But did you unplug the cable line or was any lines connected at the back to the set which was in supply, If yes then your TV has been damged by an external voltage andit can be expensive.
Secondly even if the above case is true/false we need to open and check the the Tv for any visible failures, burnout .
if so identify the component but if none is visible then you might need to probe with precaution to see the powerr supply, the voltage to the main board , specially the action of the microconttroller IC.
So start from the fuse and go on , you will be lucky if the fault is over here in this section.
However if the power is in I would like to offer a tip:
Plug the TV on and let it lie on for several hours or if there is no signs or over heating seen inside.sometimes if some capacitors in the microcontroller is faulty ,this can happen but can switch on after the charge settles in.
Hence try these tips and see if this helps you.Credit me if so.
