I doubt this has anything to do with your computer motherboard :-) Chances are you have a 'compatible' cartridge that needs either the 'chip' off the original manufacturers cartridge (Canon) and/or some 'service code' entered via the printer front panel or via the software on the PC. Without knowing even the MANUFACTURER of your printer (let alone the model no.) it's hard to advise more. Try reposing to the relevant PRINTER section ..
