Question about Car Audio & Video

Open Question

I have a cz509 deck, last night it came up with an "AMP GUARD" fault. I have powered it down and reset the deck, yet there is still no sound and the warning/fault remains.

SOURCE: AMP GUARD ON

I'd say go back to the guy who installed and get him to do it right. He's either left some wires exposed so they are intermittently touching, or has an open connection to one of the speakers. The amp will shut down to protect itself. He may also not have wired the speakers correctly. Some systems don't work unless both hot and ground wires run directly to each speaker. Some installers run only a hot line and use the car body for ground. At higher powers this can cause amp shutdown or keep it from working at all. In any case the installation wasn't done correctly.

The disc starts to spin then stops?

If the player is not able to spin the disk up to full speed in X amount of time the default is to shut down.
So most likely you need a new player.
But first try unplugging the power to the player for one minute to reset it then plug it back in. & give it a try.
next it might be getting to hot maybe dust buildup at vents or placed on top or too close to something that makes heat.
Again unplug & let it get to room temp maybe over night then try it again.
Lastly you could try a lens cleaning disk. Maybe the lens can't read the disk & this is causing it to stop trying & stop spinning. This is a long shot as if it's a read fault it should display that message.

Power spike last night? Try to unplug for 30 minutes, it may reset. Otherwise, Owner's manual troubleshooting.

My hot tub has been running perfectly until a few nights ago when the GFCI breaker tripped and now it wont reset

Either you have a ground fault or the GFCI is toasted. Turn off the power to the GFCI, open the box the GFCI is in and disconnect the output wires, close up the box, re-energize, and try to reset it again. This will tell you which problem you have.

I removed the engine and broke it all down last night. Inside the engine I found a mole. Once I removed the live mole and cleaned the valves - it worked fine.

Crackling sound

That sounds like an internal fault on your Bose system.

Leave the Bose unplugged from power and from computer for one hour, to get rid of electrostatic charges accumulated inside capacitors.
If that does not get rid of the problem, then there is an internal fault, either a short on speaker wiring, or a fault on the internal amp circuit board.

Amp guard

Other sites I've read about this problem suggest that first you try checking the wiring to the speakers for a fault to ground OR you have speakers with too low impedance. If those check out ok, the unit needs to go back for service.

No power

get a test light. check for good power on both the red and yellow wires with the key on. only one wire should have power with the key off... If one power is missing the deck will not work. Also make sure the deck has a good ground connection on the black wire.... if the unit has good power and ground and does not work the unit is probhably junk... i am willing to bet you are probhably missing a power though.

Message: amp guard

That means the unit went into protect mode because of a fault in the amp of the unit. This will need to be serviced. good Luck
