Remove it when it's warm. Either let it sit in the sun, or use a hair blower.

How do I connect the garmin nuvu to portable friction mount

Hello.

The Garmin Nuvi GPS unit can be taken on the go or set up inyour vehicle. Most units come with a window suction mount that attachesdirectly to your window while some have a sticky dashboard mount. These twooptions can leave permanent marks on your car, with a dark circle on yourwindow or leftover adhesive on your dashboard. Use a friction mount to avoiddamaging your car. The mount uses bean bags to hold it in place withoutdamaging the dashboard.

Instructions
1 Place the friction mount bean bag on the center ofyour dashboard. 2 Snap the Nuvi unit into the plastic mount and set iton top of the bean bag mount. 3 Position the Nuvi at the angle you prefer for bestvisibility while driving. 4 Hold the mount in position and slide the switch tothe "Lock" position. 5 Connect the cables to the Nuvi and you are done.
Thanks for using fixya.

Does the dashboard disc get stuck to the dashboard and the unit then get stuck to the dashboard disc? There are no instructions for this in the manual. My unit is a Garmin nuvi 255WT.

Yes, the dashboard disk gets stuck to the dashboard. Then the unit gets stuck to the disk.
This is because the suction system used to mount the unit will usually not stick directly to a car's dashboard because of the material or shape, but will always stick to the disk.

Garmen won't stick to dashboard

Hello,

What are you trying to apply to the dashboard? if you are trying to apply the suction cup it will not work. If you are finding that the dash adapter disk will not stick even after cleaning you may have used an oil based cleaner like Armor All try Rubbing alcohol to clean the area before applying the disk.

Hope this helps!

The cradle no longer charges the garmin in my vehicle. It's not charging anymore. Nuvi 750

Sometimes, if the Garmin GPS battery is allowed to fully discharge, it would require charging directly via USB cable connected to a PC or Mac before it would accept a charge for the cigarette lighter again. Try connecting this way for 4 - 8 hours or more before going forward.

Check the cigarette lighter plug in another "known good" lighter socket / vehicle to help rule out a defective socket. A socket without power indicates anything from needing to change a "simple to replace" fuse - or a bigger problem - damaged wiring in the vehicle (if the socket is used to light cigars & cigarettes - vacuum the socket out to remove ash and tobacco that may collect inside). Trying the GPS elsewhere helps eliminate possible problems with the socket. If it doesn't work elsewhere, depending on the plug that goes into the socket, it too may have a built-in fuse. Check the plug for an exposed fuse - or see if the tip unscrews to provide access to a fuse inside. If unsure, the tech Support people at Garmin are a great source for free help.

Lastly, dirt or grime on the "cradle to GPS" connection or "cable to cradle" connection could be causing the failed connection. In short - carefully inspect all points of connection and remove any deposits found.

Garmin 010-10646-00 Dashboard

Hi,

Garmin 010-10646-00 - The dashboard disk allows the suction cup mount to be mounted onto the dashboard of multiple vehicles.

Read a review as well from one of the customer using the same ....

I use a Garmin GPS unit in my car. The Garmin dashboard disk was the perfect solution to mounting the unit to where I can see it easily while driving. I was pleased to see how easy it was to install and how well it holds the GPS mount in place. I have not yet tried to peel off the disk to see if it did any significant damage to the dashboard covering. I keep cars a long time so that isn't really a problem for me. I do suggest that you find a nice magnetic knicknack to set on the disk when you leave the car parked. Even though you probably take the GPS with you, the knicknack dould possible disguise the fact that you use a GPS and reduce the possibility of someone breaking into the car.

Thanks.

How do you use the dashboard disk to mount the GPS?

The idea behind the disk thing (assuming one side is flat and the other has double-sided tape) is for you to be able to mount the disk, with the tape, pretty much anywhere in your car. Once you've found a good spot, clean that area, then peel off the piece covering the sticky tape and stick the disc on to the spot. Once that's done (won't take more than a few seconds), you should now be able to use the suction-cup on the disc (instead of on the windshield).

Either way, that tape is permanent. When they say permanent, they mean permanent. I lived where the outdoor temp was 100+ degrees everyday, and that thing would not come off. Point is, just make sure you mount it where you want it. Just a heads up. :) Good luck!

350 disk

The adhesive disk is for attaching to a dashboard, not a windshield.  The unit is supplied with a suction cup for use on a windshield.
