hi i need to have ports open on router to be able to use slingbox on my laptop. can u you help me? plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
I have a similar problem. I changed routers from Netgear to D-Link DIR 615, and now my slingbox classic won't connect. I have a Linksys gaming wireless ethernet adapter connected to the slingbox. I have reinstalled all software. My wireless is working because my other computers can connect, but my slingbox network light blinks then goes out when I try to connect. Any suggestions?? Thanks.

My suggestion would be to first disable any encryption on the router to make your wireless network simple first to try and troubleshoot these problems. check if any MAC or IP Address filters are active on the wireless router, you can either enter the IP address of the slingbox wireless adapter or its MAC address if you HAVE enable filtering, but again, try diagnosing without filtering or encryption enabled. Also ensure your slingbox wireless adapter has its settings set to 'automatically assign IP address (enable DHCP)' so it gets its address automatically.
