Plug your internet into the router then, the router to the computer. Go to your network settings and run the network setup. On my D-Link Dir-825 Wireless Router, can I change my wireless networks name without having to go around reconnecting all the computers in my house afterwards

If your network is "unsecure", which means no pass keys will be provided by client computer when they connect, then you can do it. Just change your SSID from your router's admin interface and your connecting computers will recognize it as a new network and try to negotiate connection. If there is a passkey, then the connecting computers will be prompted for a pass key (though it is an old pass key) since they recognize it as a new network.
