I just got a new netgear wgt624 and the two desktops I wired work fine right out of the box getting to the internet thru my cable modem. I named my network and enabled wireless via the admin form.
problem is that I have a sony pcg-k35 with integrated 802.11 b/g wireless that does not see the wireless network. It should pick up in range, and I tried also adding it manually. the laptop continues to say no wireless networks are in range.
I have a Sony Vaio PCG-7Z2L and it always says that the wireless LAN switch is off even if I have it turned on. All other computers in the house can pick up the wireless, so I know that is not the problem. I got it in December and it worked fine until ast week.
i have a PCG-6N1L and i cant find any drivers for it. Is there another model that uses the same drivers? I need pretty much everything. any help would be great.

whoop, yup, something really basic indeed... turns out that the laptop has an external physical switch to turn the internal wireless lan on and off. Didn't notice it at first, and took me a while to find. Once "on", everything works just great.
